2014 M5 Clunk?

Hey guys I picked up a 2014 M5 with 35k miles , and under harsh acceleration I hear a Clunk underneath towards the middle to the end of the car. Anyone got an idea of what it could be ?

Could be a host of things, but my money is on the rear diff. Get it checked by the dealer if able.

Do you work on your cars? (serious question)

If so, get the car on jackstands and start looking it over. You could have a prematurely worn bushing somewhere.

Just to confirm, is it a single clunk when you start accelerating?

Yeah, it's just a metal on metal type sound. Only when I accelerate really hard, if you manage the throttle you wont replicate it but if you drive it hard from a stop than it will Clunk.

Noises are terribly hard to diagnose over the internet unless it's described exactly like a common symptom that a given platform might have. Your clunk will probably be hard to find even in person! Regardless, I would check the rear diff area, including suspension.
