BT Audio quality issues on B&O system

Currently I'm experiencing some inconsistencies with the BT audio quality from my iPhone.
Currently I use Spotify and I have the downloaded songs quality setting set to extreme.

While listening to a song I can hear the quality level go up and down...basically as if the bit rate is going from like 320 to something below 128.
I could totally understand this inconsistency if I was listening to a streaming song while in a area with limited LTE. But when I have playlists downloaded to my iPhone set to extreme quality level I wouldn't think I would have this issue.
I also tried playing a song from Apple Music on the same phone...same issue
Btw...I have a iPhone 8 Plus on newest version of iOS

I also had a friend in my car and I paired his iPhone XR and he played something from his Spotify with the same result.

I'm wondering if there is something I have overlooked or a known SW update needed in car?

Btw...I bought the car a year or so ago and when I first got it...I did not have this problem
It's something that kinda just showed up at some point

Also hard wired via AUX cable and issue went away

Your help is appreciated

It's been discussed on many threads that audio quality is lower using Bluetooth compared to the aux cable. See below example thread. I stopped using Bluetooth for music and would use the aux cable.

It's much clearer and I'd say 15% louder using cord compared to blue tooth

Kind of silly that on a 112k car people are using a analog AUX cord instead of BT audio for better quality? This isn't a Kia *SMH

It doesn't matter what the vehicle is. Audio quality is limited by BT and will always sound better with a direct connection, ie aux cord.

I thought I was going crazy recently, I use Spotify and Bluetooth as well on my iPhone.

I would hear 'frequencies' coming in and out during songs, at first I didn't notice, but as I continued listening more closely it became a headache listening to music. At first I thought my B&O system was glitching, maybe the tweeters, but those 'frequencies' never existed while listening to Sirius radio.

I then used the USB cord to hardwire the connection; zero issues with sound whatsoever.

I have learned there are three levels of sound ranked from 3. AUX, 2. BT, 1. USB

The hassle of using the USB connection is worth it in my opinion especially to utilize the B&O!

If I use the lightning/usb to connect the iPhone - does this mean the audio is as good as just having music on a usb stick?

Yes, it's just reading the music files off your phone, same as if reading them off a usb stick. If you had same file on both places, there would be no difference in listening between the two.

Meh, I'm a niche user. I connect my phone to a USB DAC then that plugs into the aux port. I get to enjoy 24-bit audio on my B&O.

The way I see it, why would I use super compressed low quality audio on my expensive sound system option. Makes no sense to me. It's obviously less convenient this way, but the sound quality is absolutely superb.
