Why would you need rev lights on steering wheel if you have HUD? Seems redundant. I do prefer the LCI wheel and paddles though. Good luck with swap.

seems like an expensive mod to go from Pre-LCI wheel to post LCI wheel. Been wanting to do this, but it looks like it will cost over 3K USD.

Anybody got an LCI wheel they wanna sell?

Hey man, did you every do this? Im in the same boat now and no one can confirm if this works or not when you dont have vibration, lane change and heat.

sorry for not replying. haven't logged in for a while.

eventually, i found a local shop who could get me the whole thing (steering wheel with all the parts assembled). waited for a month or so for it to arrive. it only took the shop 20 minutes to do the swop, without even having to disconnect battery.

among other things, this was the best mod to my M5. should've done it sooner.

Oh wow...I use 'Mode' often switching back and forth from radio to iPod.

Is there a work around on the steering wheel or is it a button press on the dash only now?

The Mode button is on the Silver part of it.
You can't see it from that picture. But it is there.

Oh yeah, I saw it. "MODE" and "RES" buttons are still there. It's just slightly hidden hehe.

With that said, if you do the retrofit, will you lose heated steering?

No, you just need to get the steering wheel with heated option.

Ben. I just traded my DD 6GC for a pre-LCI M5. It was a deal I couldn't pass up. Now I want to puke looking at the pre-LCI steering wheel. Please hit me up if you have all the parts (new or used).

Also, for those who have done such retrofit to their 2012/2013 M5, please share your experience.

Thanks.

So do you definitely need new paddle shifts or can you use the older ones from the older steering wheel?

Also these part numbers are not coming up on BMW UK:
