My M5 F10 ownership experience

I've ordered my M5 F10 in December 2011, it was the second bunch for Russia, I just wanted my car to be 2012. It came at the beggining of March. Monte Carlo Blue with full options. I drove M5 E60 before the f10 and I have to say that it's a huge leap from my 2005 E60. I am still only 600km so I can't say how fast and powerful it is but still you can feel that it has a huge potential. The sound is ok, however I don't hear the active sound, probably because I'm still in running in mode. (only the two closer pipes open up and make sound). No errors so far.

I've read somewhere that somebody had a strange sound at the back of the car on speed bumps and so forth, and he had to take the seats out to look for the problem. Imagine my horror when I heard some metal sound on the speed bumps, thank god there were bolts from the summer tyres, the guys from the dealership put them in the lid of the trunk where the triangle is)).

It's realy quite dirty in Moscow right now and the side windows get dirty very quickly, maybe the form of the body is the cause)). Also the handles get dirty, so when you open the car, your hand can get girty as well.

Nightvision and all the other playful options work great (reading the speed limit and shaking of the wheel when you cross the lane or blinking triangles in the mirrors) i could live without the bumper cameras because in Moscow they get dirty very quickly. I was dissapointed at first that there wasn't active seats option, but not anymore because the seats are so comfortable and the active side are useful to surprise the girls)) The Heads up display is awesome!

I am still adjusting because it bigger than E60))

Thank you for reading

Congratulations! it is my car that has a strange sound from the rear area when driving on bad roads or coming off speedbumps, I'm waiting for a pair of shock-absorbers, one way or another I'll find it. I've written to BMW customer service about it too. All four pipes open at high-revs and I think (not sure), but maybe the sound changes when in Sport Plus mode. It definitely becomes more aggressive in different modes.

Drive safely and good luck!

Thanks and I hope your car gets fixed quickly. By the way I saw some photos of yellow things under the wheels and I was surprised that people drove with them, when I was told they are used to fix the car during the transportation.

No, it's normal. Mine is also silent if passenger is not using a seat belt.

Weird, should it not if there is an occupant?
