New Bluetooth Update - UPD05011.bin

Not sure what it fixes, but it covers vehicles with production dates from July 2012 to June 2013.

Most likely an update for just compatibility (new devices and improves compatibility with existing devices).

File: UPD05011 (Latest Ver, 29.9MB)
Update for vehicles with production dates between: 07/2012 thru 06/2013

File: UPD05004 (11.3MB)
Update for vehicles with production dates between: 11/2012 thru 02/2013

To Check Your Current BT S/W Version:
- Press "Tel" on iDrive Controller
- Press "Options"
- Select Submenu "Bluetooth Info"
- Select "Display System Info"

What does these different versions mean?

Software Update [TN-1.37.1]
Software Update [MN-1.23.4, TN-1.23.10]
Software Update [MN-1.21.3, TN-1.21.10]

Are they different releases made for the same cars, or are they made for different cars?

I have TN-1.21.10 installed and my car says it already has the newest version when I try to upgrade using this file.
Isn't TN-1.23.10 newer than TN-1.21.10? And TN-1.37.1 even newer.

Be advised those of us who had DVD/Video in Motion coded in. If it's anything like the last update, it will remove this feature.

I have TN-1.21.10 installed, and the car says it's the most recent.
Can't I upgrade to TN-1.37.1 (or TN-1.23.10)?

iDrive Screen Replaced

I had my iDrive Screen replaced yesterday on my 2013 M5.
Tried to do an update of the firmware to make sure I had the latest version, but I now get a warning saying the file is not compatible. I was trying to install UPD05011.bin

I then realized that the firmware installed already is MN-002.017.002 which seems to be a lot newer than what is available on the BMW upgrade website.

I know my car came with MN-001.036.002 originally (with the old iDrive display) and I had upgraded that with the same recommended file 5011 but I don't remember what the MN-xxx.xxx.xxx codes were after the upgrade.

Do you have Siri Eyes-free? 2014 cars can enable Siri with a long press of the voice command button.

5011bin doesn't enable this.

I'll dig out my iPhone and try it for you, but currently I'm using an S4 and still disappointed that it's still considered an 'incompatible device'. txt's show, but not emails. I'll also see if the long press enabled google s-voice (fingers crossed).

Sorry, tried both the iPhone and S4 and the long Phone button press does nothing In fact I can't find any difference between this firmware and the last.

You can have this feature coded for pre-2014 models.

Can anyone confirm if coding will be lost if the update is installed. Doesn't seem worth the trouble since it doesn't seemingly do anything. Just had mine re-coded after getting it back from service last week so not too eager to do it again!!

Do you have a link to this? I don't remember seeing it in the coding list.
