I find these giant wheeled bags are for minions.

The more senior you become the less you need to carry.

The most senior guys carry nothing at all.
I carry an 11" macbook air, an iPad, and my passport. No documents.
The middle guys carry a 15" PC and multiple copies of presentations.
The very junior guys carry a 15" PC, reams of data and printouts, and tons of accessories like mice, and crap like that.

In that case, if you need a strap and are no longer in the bush league, get this and a couple of ties while you are at it: http://usa.hermes.com/leather/bags-a...red-15816.html

they've also got another one like the thin tanner krolle, but not strap.

It's too thick at 4.5 inches. Plus it's $6500. I don't mind spending 1k on a bag, but 6.5k is ridiculous in my opinion! I'm beginning to wonder what the air force is paying you!

Hah.. they pay me lunch money! I'm just in it because you all pay for my JP-8, and Uncle Sam gives me the keys to one of the toys.

The thing width with shoulder strap is going to be a challenge. Here's thin, light, and cheaper, but still lots of leather and handmade.

mac case flight jacket:

or a water field muzetto:

here's where the cool kids shop: http://www.flyboys.com/pubsbags.html
