The 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship Pre-Season Testing Thread

The time in nigh!!

Preseason testing started this week in Barcelona per tradition and the 2019 season promises to be extremely interesting with 10 drivers in new places including 3 rookies! And on top of this we have an interim rules change designed to make closer racing possible by allowing easier passing due to less aero disturbance trailing from each car.

But wait, there's more!!

Sauber is now Alfa Romeo, Honda Engines in Red Bull, Renault and Mercedes have new engine designs, Kimi allowed to drink in the cockpit again, er, not really but he is in a less stressful environment, new Major Sponsors at HAAS and Williams.

Williams with a car in 10,000 pieces back at the factory on Monday and Tuesday only arriving at the track at 4 AM Local time on a RUSSIAN Aeroflot transport...RUSSIAN COLLUSION IN F1 favors WILLIAMS to the dismay of all other teams. They even have a race in Russia...WTF?!?!! Investigation!!

It's time to take a look at my beloved sport and get everyone's opinions on the cars, front running teams, potential shake-up in order, new drivers, old drivers, Paddy Lowe and his inability to get a car to testing, WCC Championship Winning Manufacturer Prediction and WDC Championship Predictions.

The 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship season starts now.

Let's light this candle.

Even though I'm a LH fan, I voted SV, the Ferrari looks very fast. And the team has openly stated that SV will get preferential treatment.

Don't judge the cars on testing pace. Too many slow cars are in the top 5 for that to be true.

I reckon it will be between LH, SV, MV and CL.

Kimi, I reckon, will be on the podium, at least once.

I really hope our man does well but I can’t see the Renault doing much this year.

Next year though

I’ve always had a soft spot for Ferrari in F1 so I hope Leclerc does well.

Happy 70th to Nikki Lauder, there was a racing driver.

We can. I hope we can generate enough interest.

Should be a very exciting especially if Red Bull/Honda can get that package competitive. I think C. Horner made the right choice by going to Honda, they will not let their motor embarrass the brand another full season. Redbull effectively becomes the Honda works team and only the factory works teams have any chance of a WDC or WMC. I think it was clear to all when Renault took over Lotus that Redbull could not share top dog with their engine supplier. The WDC should go down to the wire with VET, HAM, and maybe MadMax in the hunt till the last race.

Vettel and Ferrari take it all but just barely.

Renault has no chance, ever! The only reason their engines won 4 championships in a row is because of the aerodynamic genius of A. Newey.

Don't be so sure.

yes, they had a few dismal years, but Renault has a proud and good record in F1. Alonso won the championship twice with them, and in the turbo era they were very quick.

I think Red Bull were as much to blame as Renault. Let's see how the next few years pan out.

Good grief, Mercedes is almost a full second clear of the field in Friday testing in Australia?!?!

I hope this isn't indicative of the true pace for everyone or it's going to be another boring azz year.

This.

The packaging around the Red Bull, particularly the rear, has made cooling challenging which has been one of the primary reasons for failure.

It looks like they built another beast with a narrow operating window. FP3 will give us the best indicator. Everyone seems to think the Scuderia is sandbagging. I kinda hope so but I want to see Lewi5 get #6.

Hulkenberg pulled faster times with less time on track...

I'd love to see what HAAS can do this year.

Good grief, so the nightmare is here. Mercedes once again light years ahead of everybody. I'm filming every race this year and implementing fast forward all the time, enough is enough of this shit I honestly can't take it anymore.
