Changing from TiAg to Sapphire/Terra

After being totally sold on TiAg with Black and aluminum trim, I''m suddenly obsessed with changing my order to Sapphire Black/Terra with the same aluminum trim. I've been waiting for months for my ED and am seriously considering the switch. Am I just bored? Somebody tell me I'm making the right move with the switch. I'm aware of the issues with both exterior colors, but it seems like a clean sapphire black with the terra is incredible. I'm gonna head by a dealership today in the hopes of finalizing my decision............again. Any thoughts/opinions? Thanks.

I think you are making a great call. If I didn't want a light interior, I would have gone with Terra. I think Black/Terra is the most stunning color combo available, IMO.

I personally do not like Terra with silver exterior and would go with the classic black interior.

yes, but what about terra with the black exterior vs silver with the black. I know, bottom line it's up to me. Just hoping for someone to dramatically suggest that I'm making the right move.

Check these pics out if you haven't seen them yet. It's hard to argue that this Sapphire/Terra combo is anything but beauty on wheels.

My head was spinning too. I changed my order from Mystic Blue to Black Sapphire after seeing those pics. I want a light interior which is why I kept Grey. I changed again from Sapphire to Monaco because the upkeep in Black is so difficult. I like the subtle blue to Monaco to give it some life to the color. However, Monaco may be just as difficult as Sapphire to keep looking good and every time I see a clean Sapphire 3-series, I think "wow, that's stunning".

Yes do it!!!

I do have to say that initially I wasn't fully sold on Terra, but I did't want black both inside and out. After 3 weeks with the black beauty, I've very happy. I think it looks very classy. I expect it will be work to keep it looking good this winter, but I'm hoping for a long term commitment!

I would go for the Black/Terra. That combo looks delicious!!! If I were gonna spend money on leather, I would get something that's a little different from the regular beige or black interior. DO IT!! We all know that you will regret it if you don't get the Terra.

Both choices are equally good as far as I'm concerned (see my signature)

I would buy TiAG/Black again, except it would make my new car resemble my old one too much. And the all-black interior is pretty stark for a near-luxury car. However if you are focusing on the sport side of these cars, then black is a cool alternative.

Either way - you'll be happy!

I liked the Terra pictures when I was shopping, but was afraid to order it since I was never able to see it in person (I still haven't seen it in person). I ended up getting the black leather, which I love, but I still carry a torch for the Terra.

Sapphire Black/Terra/Aluminium is a stunning combo . I have it and love it . I have seen the other combos after buying my car, but I haven't had any regrets about my choice. The other added benefit is that Terra is not common .

Silver/Black/Aluminium is also a very nice combo, but if you put two E90s side-by-side with these combos, I would choose Sapphire Black/Terra/Aluminium anyday .

So yes, I say switch... you will be very impressed. To be safe, and to avoid regrets later, go and see Sapphire Black/Terra/Aluminium in person before making your final decision.

I was also in the same position before buying my car. I was sold on Sparkling Graphite and Terra, but the minute I saw Sapphire Black/Terra in person, I knew I had found what I want, and I stopped comparing colours and signed on the dotted line to fix my order. Prior to that, I had been changing my colour choices on my order literally everyday.

Good luck with your choice ... either way you will be fine.

Did you get Terra with Poplar, Walnut or Alum?

Didn't mean to try to fool, but guilty as charged.

Actually, the server hosting the pictures is a Mac mini in my den running Mac OS X Server on a DSL line.

Now back to E90 stuff...

Terra with Walnut here. Don't mean to be a hater, I like how unique poplar is, but just doesn't match the richness of Terra. Aluminum seems too common. I parked next to an Acura TL today and couldn't believe how much aluminum was in that thing.

Whatever the trim though, you will not regret the switch to Terra.

I was in a similar position but...

I originally wanted the sapphire / terra interior but changed to Ti Ag/ black combo for several reasons. First off the black looks great for about a day until it starts to pick up everything then it shows he dirt and dust more than any other color. I don't know how much time you have to detail your car, but this is definitely a factor to consider. I also like the continuity of the silver exterior with the 18" sport rims. The brushed aluminum interior trim ties the whole silver theme together. I'm over the whole woodgrain thing. The terra seats IMO look too brown in person. I prefer the shade on the 5 series which has a more of a reddish shade or even better, the baseball glove-esque shade on the M3 series. I also didn't care for the molded black plastic pieces fastened to the rear and sides of the seats. I think they could have coordinated that differently. A black interior is solid, only interrupted by the aluminum. Very high tech!
