Hey guys so I've been lurking here on the F10 M5 forums for 5 months now while searching for my M5. I waffled back and forth several times between going back to an e9x M3, a F80 M3 or even a new 6th gen Camaro SS 1LE lol.

Happy to report that I purchased an F10 M5 and I love it!

2015, DCT, CP, Monaco Blue w/ 46k on the clock. I wasn't even in the market for anything newer than a 2013 but the deal I got on this car was too hard to pass up. CPO Warranty through 8/2020 so I should be good for a while.

Already has a stg1 Dinan tune on it, although I don't hear great things about that piggyback tuner. Looking forward to life as an M5 owner.

First order of business is updating maps and some feature coding and any other "little" mods that make a decent impact. After that, it's time for tires.

So I've searched all the tire threads and most are specific to the 19" 343's, but nothing about the 20" Comp Pack 601's. The car has pirelli P-zero's on there now, but the gold standard for me as always been the Mich PS4S. On to size - can I +1 the rears w/o rubbing? I'd like to go to a 305/25 but not even sure them make the tire in that size.

Anyway, some pics of my "new to me" M5!!

Welcome, gorgeous car.
I fitted PS4S 305-30’s 2 days ago on 20” 343m wheels, but since it snowed here - I didn’t feel like trying them out yet, today was +2C only so it will be next week I report back on them.
Are your 601 wheels 10.5 at the rear?

Yes, silverstone! I wasn't even looking for MB or SS interior. I was looking for strict black on black as my last car was (e90 M3). Somewhere in the middle of my search, I opened my mind a bit to other color exteriors and interiors. Nothing shines like black when clean...which is about 3 seconds lol. Opted for a decent compromise, still a dark color but not as high maintenance as black. And the interior...I'd seen a lot of SS interior cars that were poorly kept and it turned me off to the idea. But after seeing this car in person and how clean it was, the color really grew on me. The challenge will be to keep it clean.

I think the 601's are only 10" in the rear. which is odd, you would think the comp pack wheels would be wider than the standard 20" wheels (10.5).

All M5 wheels are the same width and offset. M6 wheels are 0.5” wider and a different offset to suit the different body shape

yup, just did a search, also found that 601's are cast, not forged like the 343's.

Welcome. I don't think the 601's can fit 305's. But good luck!

Congrats and welcome! Great spec car. I was looking for a Monte Carlo Blue over Silverstone car before I ended up with Imperial Blue/SS. I needed a 6 speed though so my search was that much harder!

Quick wheel clarification: Stock 19's in the familiar design are 345M. The optional 20's in the same design are the 343M's. As you know, you have the 601's which are not forged. Cool design though. There was also a 324M? optional 19" wheel which has a lot of spokes and IMO only looks OK and only on certain color M5's.

You can definitely run 305/30r20's with 343 wheels without rubbing.

Good luck with her!

So I don't know how you Stg 2 + guys do it but this car is completely useless in the first 3 gears, especially under 50mph lol. Rear tires are done, so I'm looking at switching out the PZero's to M PS4's all the way around. Done a fair bit of research and I do think 305/30's will fit comp rims (same measurements as the 343's) w/o rubbing. Question though, do I need to +1 the fronts as well? To maintain balance and avoid understeer/pushing?

I don't think so.I have 305's on the back with the 265's on the front and the grip from the fronts on bends is just the same as when I had 295's.The primary reason I replaced the 295 MSS's was for more grip on take off, of which there is plenty more.

I went to 275 on the front but only because they were cheaper. Noticed no difference between the two personally. Depends what you use the car for.

I do plan on tracking the car at some point soon but 99% of use will be on the street. I like hitting the back roads on a Sunday as well...just don't want to lose that lateral performance.
