Change brake pad clips and caliper guides?

I'm about to perform a front rotor and pad change on my M6. When I look up the parts on realoem, there's a note that says for cars over 48 months old, change the pad clips and caliper guides.

This is a new concept to me. I've never done it for my E90 M3, though it's not the same type of brakes.

For those who've had this work done around 2016-2018 for a 2014/2015 car, did the dealership do this replacement as part of your brake replacement? Should I do it?

part numbers:
34117845746 pad clips
34117845749 caliper guide
