How to charge while out of town

The manual isn't clear on this but i have a BMW trickle charger, i will be out of town for a month.

Where/how do i properly hook the charger up?

Under the hood you will see the positive terminal and the grounding post. If your trickle charger has the pigtail you can bolt it that makes it much easier for future charging. GL

Ditto the recommendation above. Because of the IBS (intelligent battery sensor)...a battery charger needs to be hooked up to the jump start terminals in the engine bay. If you bypass the IBS, then any changes in the battery's voltage etc...can be interpreted as a fault or issue thus cause electrical issues.

There are dedicated terminals in the engine bay for jump starting...these are the same points you should hook up a battery charger/tender/maintainer. Hooking directly to the battery or using one of the 12 volt charging sockets (cig lighters) can create issues.

See the locations circled in white in the 1st pic below...and the 2nd NOTE in the 2nd pic for text from the BMW TIS on where to hook up a charger.
