M1/M2 Programming not Saving
So about 16mo ago when I purchased my 2014 CP I played around with the M1/M2 buttons and I recall programming them with a simple hold of each button. Those settings remain programmed to this day.
Now, when I adjust settings and reprogram (either by the cluster or holding down the M1/M2) the settings are saved only for that ignition cycle. I can swap to the new settings just fine on the same trip I've programmed them, but the next day it goes back to the old settings programmed 16mo ago. Has anyone experienced this? What am I doing wrong? |

Try programming the button via the iDrive. I believe its under settings or vehicle info > M1, M2 Buttons

Sounds like a fault in the module that is supposed to store the settings. You could try resetting the M1/M2 buttons back to defaults in the I-Drive menu and try programming them again. Probably won't help but worth a try since it is easy to do.

Make sure you creat a profile first then try saving your settings

That's because you might have a profile set only to that one key and not the other. Give it a try it might work. I had the same problem myself.

Great! I had forgotten all about profiles and related coding. If you dig, you can find that you can code so that settings in your profile do not depend on the key, but are just in the profile selected in I-drive. I did this when I first got my car and I think it does work. It's a good trick since I'm the only driver of this car, and then I don't have to "lose" my settings when I have to use the spare key.
