Front Camera

Just thought I share my front camera install from Bimmer Tech. Their system integrates into iDrive and all I have to do to activate the front camera is hold down the menu button for a few seconds and it pops up on the screen. I installed the camera in the lower grille. I had to install the front camera so my wife wouldn't tear up my Vorsteiner lip when parking!

Nice, I too scratched my front bumper until i got used to the side cameras. Great addition. I may do this as well. Thanks for sharing.

What model camera, front view retro fit for f10 5 series ? Did you need the multimedia interface?

Yeah you have to get the multimedia interface to work with their camera and its their camera which was provided with the kit. Check out their website. Bimmer Tech (google).

About $500 plus another $100 or so for install. Think its worth it so the wife doesn't kill my front end.

This is really cool! Is it just a camera or a full DVR?

Just camera. DVR would be a cool added feature.

I am wondering if there is a retrofit that can use those cameras (front, rear, side) as dash cam. We don't have to buy additional dash cam for accidents.

That's a good idea for sure.

I'd hit up patryk at bimmer tech and see if they know of a way.

Hello DBTRAN, can you share where did you have your camera installed?
I'm in Houston too and am looking for an installer.

Thanks!

I thought I read that if you already have the back-up camera the multimedia interface isn't needed...
