Cabin lighting went out with ASM unplug

I noticed a few weeks ago that with the B&O lighting set to 'on' there was no ambient lighting in the cabin - I'd unplugged the ASM module last fall and guess I never noticed that there was supposed to be interior ambient lighting. Took the car in for a windshield replacement and had them look at it - they said that there was an ASM fault, plugged it back in and the lights are working again.

I liked it better dead silent, but the lighting is kinda cool at night.

You can code off ASD. I assume that would leave your lighting intact.

Just unplugged it in my M6 GC. GC cars, the ASD box is on the roof of the trunk. So you don't have to rip the carpet out.

See my thread here:. http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1444547

I unplugged this morning. There's a huge difference in the experience.

Such a big mistake on BMW's part to include ASD in our cars. Total backfire. The people that wanted more performance and sound are the same people that disabled it... If you add aftermarket exhaust systems, there is a lot of drone and pretty much ruins the experience.

IMO

So I have BimmerCode and the ODB module. These are the screens that I should use, correct? No need to fuss with expert mode, correct?

Guys, I've coded the ASD off and also using JB4. My car has RPI GT Exhaust and I don't think the coding worked until the JB4 was installed. Thoughts? Anyone else experienced this?

Just went in to ASD Module and the option to disable it was there.

No need to go into Expert mode

Did you use BimmerCode or Bimmerlink? I don’t see the ASD module in BimmerCode.

Does anyone know if this is OK to do if you have the Bimmertech PP82DSP Amp installed in the car?
