DCT Repair

Has anyone ever attempted to repair M5 transmission? I’m trying to figure if I should buy used transmission, or try to mend it. Thank you

My first and reverse gears will not engage. Some gears would skip. A DTML message popped up. Dealership couldn’t figure out what the issue was. Once they got error codes on paper I was told i needed new transmission. Indy shop has limited experience with these transmissions, so in order to find out what failed they have to open it to see if it’s megatronics, or gearshift rods. I know people have replaced megatronics, but I couldn’t find any info whether gearshift rods are repairable. See pics.
