BMW UK Warranty Options....

HI All

My 2013 M5 warranty expires in March, which came with car after I bought from a BMW dealer. By then the car would have done 58,000 miles. There are 3 options I have in terms of BMW UK Warranty:

1. Comprehensive - £143 a month
2. Named Component - £119 a month
3. Driveline Only - £90 a month

I think Driveline only is a NO NO as it only covers up to £5,000. But what is the difference between Comprehensive vs Named Component? Both offer cover up to value of car.

One crazy thing. If my car had done 60,000 miles it would have cost:

1. Comprehensive - £354 a month
2. Named Component - £288 a month
3. Driveline Only - £193 a month

Basically when you hit 60,000 miles it goes through the roof. Weirdly however, if I take the warranty out with it below 60,000 miles, as in my case, it will stay at £143 (comprehensive) or £119 (Named Component) until I hit 100,000 miles.

Any ideas?

Cheers

As long as u are paying every month by direct debit, versus annually, then your premium wont change, whereas if do annually then the renewal comes up theyll smack u with a new price based on the mileage at the time...always good to therefore start a monthly direct debit off and before you hit the 60k miles as well

As for the two cover levels, on a car like the M5 I'd go with the full shebang personally...comprehensive cover with breakdown, with a maximum excess to keep the monthlies down (as I personally wouldn't be claiming unless some very fundamental and pricey went wrong!)

As for the cover levels and what they give you, its quite well listed out on:
