bimmertech smartview and JB4 BT
I'm planning for my next upgrades.
I was going to get the bimmertech smartview (iPhone mirroring) and a frontview camera. Also planning to get the JB4/BCM with the BT connect. Anyone here have the smartview and the JB4 BT connection? Does the JB4 app display properly when mirrored thru smartview? Also, does the JB4 iPhone app allow you to change the map from the phone or it just displays the gauge readings etc? Thanks in advance! |

Make sure you understand what happens to the V1 app when you receive a call or want to use he phone for something else.

I still have a few things I have to sort out. The Bluetooth from my iPhone I would like to keep for phone calls and streaming music. I thought about this after your post. I might buy an old iPad mini and use that to run the V1 app. I'm changing the plan - I think I want to try and display the V1 app and arrows on the HUD. I saw someone connect an ipad touch to the HUD and played videos over it I still might do the bimmertech for me to run the BCM info on the main display in the car...same issue tho. If I use my iPhone then the Bluetooth is going to get used to connect to the JB4 BT module and I lose ability to take BT calls or stream music. Maybe get another ipad mini? |

I think essentially I need my iPhone to be connected to the car BT for phone and audio streaming and also connected to BT adaptor to get the JB4. Then I can just mirror my phone to the car screen. Getting the V1 radar to display on the HUD - not even sure what its going to use. I might have to hardwire. The iphone mirror from bimmertech I think uses wifi and airplay. |

JB4 connect alows you to access and change all the JB4 features and maps as you would through the laptop App. Its a great device that just so happens to make the car fast as hell or OEM for valet, wife, wet weather etc, all changed on the fly.
Get BMS water/meth injection as well. Looking forward to seeing if the mirroring works! |

For members in socal, can anyone recommend and good audio shops? LA or Orange County area?
I need someone to splice into the HUD so I can display video output from an ipod touch. Pretty much what they did here in this link below but I want to do the V1 radar arrows thru the ipod touch displayed on the HUD... http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...&highlight=HUD https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=3956398836996 |

Mine is working. Installed it myself. Thought it would take only an hour but took two.
I added a hotspot in the car to allow the AppleTv to always stay connected.
