Thoughts on pre oil change engine flush?
Anyone do a pre oil change engine flush on their M5?
I've got my car going in for service tomorrow and am always keen to 'do what I can' from a servicing/preventative maintenance perspective. Given this I was thinking about using the Liqui-Moly Engine Flush Plus prior to the old oil being dropped. Anyone used it before and/or got thoughts either way? |

I ended up doing the Liqui-Moly Engine Flush Plus flush as part of my service today.
Not sure how much difference it may have made, but for a pretty nominal cost I thought why not, and it gives me a little peace of mind that I'm doing everything within my power to keep things running tip top. |

Looks interesting. Did you do it yourself? Any noticeable color difference?
Let us know how the car runs and if any increase/decrease in oil burn as you put some miles on it. |

Will do. The specialist workshop puts Motul 5W40 in my car so I haven't tended to experience much in the way of oil consumption (not that I do big kays/miles in the car in any event so may not notice even if it did impact oil consumption). |

I did their pro-like engine flush my last oil change. Just felt was good idea to clean the engine. Talking to Blackstone lab they said should be fine using one of those and usually is gone after 20-30mins cycle before the oil change. Can't say I notice any difference

Over the last few years my M5 hasn't had much use, and when I have used it the trips I've done have tended to be fairly short. This was another consideration for me in getting the flush performed as I know lots of short trips aren't ideal and I wanted to do what I could to keep the engine in good health. |

AlisterB If you don't mind me asking, what's your shops name and how the Motul availability?
I've been trying to get some Motul X-Cess 5w40 for a while in Bris, and it is impossible to get. Everyone who is a Motul partner and can order it, but has alike a 6 week wait. |
