New tyres
I'm getting closer to needing new tyres and still trying to find the best option. I really want to go for 305s on standard 20" m5 wheels. I understand that the recommended width is 10.5" but I also understand that the 305s can be used on 10" wheels.
I plan on using Michelins as they have been praised on the forums. I'm looking at Michelin Pilot Sport 4S PS4S - 305/30 R20 (103Y) XL TL Has anybody used these tyres without problems? Thanks |

Should fit. 343M's are 10.5, Competition 601M wheels are 11.0, and my aftermarket wheels are 10.5--I run the 305/30 (103Y) Pilot Sport 4. Sidewalls are beefier but they fit fine.

I put Nitto tires on my M5 recently. I should have done this years ago as the grip and comfort far exceed the Michelin's IMO.
I went with Nitto's NT555 G2 in the front and NT05 (305s) in the rear. |

What are your respective sizes in the front? And, any objections against going with the PS4's? In Florida, we get an occasional afternoon shower, basically on a daily basis currently. Thanks, H |

Did either of you both try the 275 combo? I've read that it may cause the vehicle to understeer...and further the issue of the camber being -2 from the factory.
Is this true? If so, what are your respective camber/toe settings? Thanks, H |

I'm running 275 in the front and 305 in the rear. It doesn't make sense that the vehicle will understeer with a wider tire in front, as it should give the front tires more traction.
I haven't noticed any negative effect from running 275 in the front, but then again I don't track my car either. The PS4S is a great tire in both dry and wet conditions. Aside from semi-slick tires, you'll probably have a hard time finding a better tire.

Keeping with the thread topic, (wheel widths) does anyone run a square set up with 4 rear wheels? Or 4 rears but still staggered tire sizes...
I have an opportunity to buy (4) rear Dinan wheels (20" x 10.5") at a big discount. I know I'd need a spacer in the front, but I'm curious about handling changes. Can you run a 285 tire on a 10.5 rim? |

I didn't try 275s in the front as my "tire guy" recommended to stick with 265s in the front for fitment. I went ahead with his recommendation.

275/305 on CP wheels. The 275s add a bit of stress to the power steering but i still keep putting them on...
