Had the Transit 2. Let it decant for a couple hours before sips. Was I think $40 or $44. Worth the price and tasty.

Their wines are too acidic for my taste. I agree they are probably better with food, it would help cut through that.

Failed to post this yesterday but a 2014 Pinot from Eagle’s Trace which is no longer produced. Was made by Gus Anderson who started Anderson’s Conn Valley (ACV) which I am a big fan of. Gus retired and then decided to start making wine again with Eagle’’s Trace. He has passed now and his son Todd runs ACV.

Edit: I hate the app!

7 Deadly Zinz is my all time favorite red wine.
19 Crimes red wine brand is amazing too!

White wine is junk. Too sweet for me.

White wine is not always sweet, need to expand the horizon a bit.

Try a French Muscadet. They don't cost much, and they're anything but sweet.

Generally, Muscadet wines are made to be drunk with food, although sipping on one outside on a hot afternoon would certainly work. My 2Ę on that score. They're also relatively low in alcohol, which offers flexibility in how you choose to enjoy them.

Here is an introduction to pairing Muscadet with food; which, in my opinion, is a good place to start enjoying what dry whites have to offer:

https://winefolly.com/deep-dive/tast...muscadet-wine/

BTW, there are a lot of genuinely dry whites available from different parts of the world. A quality French Chablis will certainly hit the mark, although at a price. Dry whites are not just French, though - a search will offer up many possibilities at a range of price points.

Water Tower Fine Wines on Mt. Washington offers a wide selection of dry white wines. No affiliation.

I've had my fair share of all kinds of white wine, especially when I worked at a local wine store. I tried everything and white wine isn't for me.

I appreciate all the input though..

What the hell happened to Cakebread? The Cabernet used to be one of my favorites. Somewhere around the 2014 vintage I didnít like it. I know alot has to do with that years grapes. I tried it again a few years later and still didnít like it. I just picked up a 2019 to give it a shot again. Me no like.

Is it just me?

It's Italian night here again: lasagna, insalata, and a tasty Barbaresco from Albeisa.

Went to an art and wine festival today showcasing Arizona wines. Some were trash, but others quite tasty. Brought home a couple bottles each of my top 3. Also found some good hot sauce.

Back to Zins here, this evening with an Alexander Valley wine from Geyserville's Marietta Cellars' Angeli vineyard:

.

If you enjoy reds that are reasonably well-balanced between fruit, tannins, and alcohol (14.8% in this case), this is a wine worth seeking out.

Had a nice dinner tonight. The owner of the place dug up something for us that wasnít on the list. We visited Donati maybe 10-12 years ago, and loved it. Very quaint winery with good juice.
