No next generation Audi R8 but there will be other cars Audi develops
News update from motor authority.
Sounds like Audi may use the Mission E platform being developed by Porsche for a future electric sports car. I've also read that Porsche is planning on using their Mission E platform for different body style Porsche's using that same technology. I think this is good news, especially for the Audi variant because it will most likely result in cheaper electrified performance vehicles, or I mean vehicles in a lower class that are more affordable that use the same architecture from the Mission E. I think that's pretty cool. But this leaves Lamborghini as the only automaker that will continue to offer newly built V10 engines. They'll be the "Last of the Mohicans." Both sad and relieving at the same time I say. https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...ource=facebook On a separate note, the Electric future looks promising. That new Jaguar I-Pace comes with a dual motor setup, 394hp and 512tq, with a chassis that is 94% aluminum and although it's in the Crossover category it's still 100lbs lighter than a Model S. That new I-Pace has got to be a hoot to drive and it doesn't look bad either! The future looks promising. Now to just get my hands on an old E60 V10 M5 so I can enjoy the sound of Formula 1 engine for the rest of my life while I also continue to buy new and exciting Electric cars in the future.
