Valve cover seal replacement

I’ve just changed my spark plugs and cylinders 1 to 3 had oil on the outside of the plugs. I think this must be coming from a leaking valve cover seal. I’ve looked at the manual and it appears a right nightmare of a job. Is it right that the whole exhaust, turbo and inter cooler all need removing?
