Cortex Boost and Meth controller

https://sirhclabs.com/

Any one try this controller out?

Fraction of the cost of a JB4 and has many of the same features.

Thanks for the input

This looks interesting but like many things in this category that it's so universal will make it hard to implement.

Say we're talking just for controlling meth no tuning at all. The F10 JB4 itself is ~$600 or less used. When you add the base Cortex unit, can module, RPM module, how much are you saving?

In terms of functionality JB4 implementation can failsafe if meth flow is too low, show you the meth flow and boost readings in dash, add boost as a function of meth flow if you choose. Not sure this setup would really be equivalent?

Cortex is quite easy to install actually. I have it on my RS3. It has two aux inputs/outputs that can control a solenoid and it also enables you to choose various conditions for meth flow. Ex. throttle/pedal position, boost, RPM... anything. The GUI is quite intuitive and the hardware is also solid. The Cortex can also be used as a boost controller which is its primary use.

This controller is very robust but not a JB4 replacement.

There are some features the JB4 offers that this unit doesn’t and the JB4 has a track record of working well on these cars out of the box.

Going to run a BPMSport Stage 1 tune for now. When I upgrade to SRM turbos, CSF coolers, SSP clutches then I will get a custom tune and stack the JB4 to control meth

Agree... that's what I ran on both my M5's.

A used JB4 setup can be had for $500, I wouldn't chance it with something new to the platform. To add, JB4 gives you in-dash readings of your methanol which in my opinion is priceless.
