Michelin 4s 295/35/19 vs 305/35/19 super sport rears

Hi

I am planing on buying a f10 M5, and i wanna use 19 inch oem 345 rims.

Every one I talk to, that have driven the f10 m5, says that it has terrible traction problems.

On to of that, its going to be flashed with downpipes, so my plan is to go up to 305 michelin tires (305/35/19) on the rears, that combined with the smalle rim, will give me more rubber, and better traction.

Only problem is that michelin does not make the new 4s in 305/35/19, but the do make the super sport in that size.

Would the 4s in 295 width, grip better then the super sport in 305 for my application ?

PS i am coming from a flashed 530d with xdrive and I love that I can just floor it and it hooks up.

Welcome to the F10 M5 platform. There won't be many times you can just floor it and hook up. LOL. Good luck with the car though.

Yeah I know

But to be honest, the thing I find most awesome in a fast car, is roll on the gas when entering a freeway, the feeling of getting pushed into the seat gives me a wonderful feeling in my stomach, and makes me very happy, that is why I think the m5 would make me VERY VERY VERY happy LOL

The reason why I want as much grip as possible, is that when I bought my 530d, I also tested a none xdrive version running 245 rear tires, and on hot asphalt, it still wouldent hook up.

The Michelin PS4S 305s make a huge difference over pilot super sport 295s. You can get power down much more often but it does still spin easily. My car is stock at the moment and traction can still be a problem.

You would need something like Toyo r888r 315s to put power down with a tune and downpipes.

By the way, the 530d will feel pathetic compared to the m5 so if you were having trouble with that then the m5 is going to be a handful. I never expected it to be so fast and have as many problems with traction when coming from my tuned 535d.

You missed my point , problem is that I wanna run 19 inch oem m5 345 rims, and the ps4 in 19 inch don't come 305 wide, but the super sport comes in 305 wide.

That was original question, 305 SS vs 295 PS4 on a 19 inch rims

The 530d none xdrive I tested had 245 tires from Hankook, that would explain why I had trouble launching it.

My 530d has xdrive and SS tires and I can floor it with 650nm of torque and it goes like a rocket.

I am sure I an in for a shook with the m5, it has over twice the power stock, and weighs pretty much the same as a 530d with xdrive and all the options like mine have

I would go for the 295 PS4S's at the rear, as they will grip better in the wet, I cant say from experience which is better 295 PS4 vs 305 SS, but I am willing to bet the PS4S tires are better.

Personally I would prefer 295 MPS4s to 305 MPSS

I think the MPS4s are a far superior tyre

With an M5 its so much more than any regular 5 series, its an occasion everytime you drive it, the power is only half the story
