So this M5 has M specific twinpower turbo engine unlike M modified 1M engine. I'm curious about the difference of throttle response of the 2 engines.

A byproduct of turbocharging is a muted exhaust note. Just a fact of life.

Ferrari's also have a flat plane crank, which totally changes the sound of the engine. They are the best sounding engine's out there.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Made by Boysen if you were interested. M-Power.com is the internal publication of M Gmbh so you can be assured they will run features like this with each new development- there is more coming...

M engines used 10W60 because of the high engine temperatures so they needed high viscosity oil to keep everything lubed up properly when running hard. If not, the oil would get too thin and not protect optimally and also increasing oil consumption.
This M5 engine is amazing and I have no problem believing it will run proper cool. No classic hot running turbo's or high oil temps (N54) Water cooling the DME and charge air is also a question of space, water takes a lot less space then air and it's crowded up there already, therefore giving much better cooling efficiency/space. But it's expensive... Oh, and I would be careful if you would ever lower this car as you won't only be destroying suspension geometry, you don't want to damage that oil cooler either! |
