Had to put my £55 into a plastic bag and pay BMW like that for the M's yearly test today. If you pay by cash make sure you have exact amount as there's no change.

You should have paid them on the phone before collecting the car, a lot easier

I usually wait for it in their lounge but couldn't even do that, they said I had to leave the car with them most of the day but they also give it that all important H/S check also included..I prefer paying cash,cards are for geeks

Personally I will be entirely happy to see physical cash disappear...No real need for it.

But as people quite rightly say its an old currency now. Crypto may even be the future.
