Little bit of blue smoke coming out exhaust, noticed after a few weeks of driving with catless DPS, i know it might be an oil leak somewhere but how do i fix it

Blue smoke is usually caused by faulty crank case ventilation system (CCV), worn valve guide seals (notorious problem on orginal n63/s63 engines, remains to be seen how the tu & tu2 do with this issue), or worn piston rings.
Have your CCV system checked for leaks/cracks, if no issues found, then have a compression leak down test performed on all cylinders, if all checks out with the leak down test then most likely valve stem seals. How much oil does it use between oil changes and how many miles? |

Definitely change the oil more frequently than 10k intervals. Also as mentioned, adding a quart every 2,500 miles is not bad. I'd say average for these from what I've since. My personal M5 does about 4,000 miles to a quart, which I find to be amazing. haha.
If looking under the hood, find the small airboxes right in front of the turbos. There is a small tube running off those boxes and down towards the head/valve cover. Do you see oil film/grease build up at the connection to the box? I think that's a sign those tubes need to be replaced, but not positive. |
