Arrow ► 11 PTT Vs. 13 M6 GC

that is the question...

2011 Panamera Turbo
<50,000 miles
$150,000+ MSRP

2013 M6 Gran Coupe
<40,000 miles
$110,000+ MSRP

Both in same $40-45,000 buying range.

Having owned BMWs for almost 15 years, I am familiar with servicing and repairs so have comfort in that.

Only had about 3 years of Porsche Cayenne S ownership so not enough to give me a solid baseline.

Also the M6 is only 5 years old vs 7 on the PTT....

Anyone have any experience shopping between these two cars or have recommendation on ownership?

I would go with M6 GC, newer, less miles and I like it more aesthetically.

I agree with Jose, you are talking about a Porsche that is gen 1 and has a ton of miles and probably built in late 2009/2010 as a 2011 unit.

Visually the Gen 1 Panny did nothing for me while the GC is arguably BMW's best 4 door car. It will be faster from a roll than the Panny and has more updated tech too.

Both cars are out of warranty but the cost to repair will be more on the Panny if you have any issues as well as an aftermarket warranty (if you choose to buy one).

Garage List
Panamera is butt ugly, the M6 wins on that score but the seating is vastly different. The back seats in the M6 are entirely useless. Panamera wins big there but depends on what you want the car for.

On my 3rd Panamera. Had the 2011 PTT, 2014 P4S and now the 2017 PTT.

I also owned a 2011 Cayenne GTS and 2013 Cayenne Turbo.

None of my cars are ever garage queens. I purchased all these new and all these cars except the Cayenne GTS went over 100K in 3 years for me. Other then wear and tear items that comes with driving this many miles in a short period of time, the Porsche are bullet proof.

I've also owned almost every M car out there in the last 5 years. If maintained correctly, both are going to very good to you. However, my M's had more fit and finish issues and minor annoyances then the Porsche. This is without question.

Ultimately up to you , but I would take the older Panamera anyday over the M6. Better all around daily driver with the AWD and more useable power across the whole rev band.
