Just got T boned at 60mph speed!! How bad is this?!

I am glad I am alive, albeit very sore
And that they are alive and well two! He was a grandpa with 2 grandchildren and swerved off the main road to hit me while stationary at a stop light!!

Thanks for input?!

Don’t know what to expect

Whoa - sorry to see this. But glad you and all involved are OK!

On the car... if the subframe (and frame) is fine, its fixable!

So sorry about your accident! Glad you are okay but what a hellacious bummer!

Wouldn't be able to guess but it looks like there is some underlying damage which sucks.

Sitting at stoplights is dangerous, ask my wife. She won't even drive down that part of Hwy 183 anymore, she picks a different route. Glad you are OK but wait a week and then go see a chiropractor if the pain is too much. It took about three weeks but the pain was so bad my wife could hardly move her left leg. Then she started seeing the chiropractor and she is doing much better.

I got T-boned in my 535i back in 2011. I thought it was totaled but they just cut out the B pillar, welded in a new one and replaced the doors and right front panel. The lady that ran the stop sign was only going about 15mph when she hit us. The cost of the repair was $14k and cost me $10k in diminished value on trade for my M5.

After that incident I didn't have any pain for several days but it was really bad in my neck and shoulders about a week later. Took over two months for everything to get better and I didn't go see a chiropractor back then.

First, glad you are safe.

That car is a total... I think you bought it used so the value is lower than new and the entire side is crumpled and I can only imagine whats messed up underneath. If your insurance tries to repair, get them to payoff as you dont want that car anymore.

If its like my 335i I got hit in at 60mph by a chick in a PT cruiser who ran a stop light... It moved / shifted the transmission. I was sore the next morning had a rash on my stomach / neck but within 5 days was 100% perfect. They really are great cars to be hit in (bmws)... I'm sure you'll be good soon enough soooma

Looks like about 20k+ of damage right there than if any trans damage instantly 20k+, add in your wheels and tires another 3-4k... I'm sure the car retails for 65k-80k he'd be right at or near totaled out.

They had my 335i at 25k of damage then they saw the trans issues and were like totaled.

Did you file a diminished value claim with the other parties insurance to get some of that back. I got a fat check ontop of all the repairs at an Audi approved/ certified aluminum / r8 facility. Couldn't have worked out better in my case.

Especially in the case of an M I'd make sure you contact his insurance company and say you're filing a diminished value claim if the total payout / repair fix + dinged carfax isn't sweet enough. Best 400 bucks I ever spent hiring a competent known in the industry here locally appraiser

No, this was in 2011 and that is how I found out about diminished value in 2013 when I traded for the M5. Wasn't able to make the claim later but I don't know if it would have been possible at the time. It's different in each state.

We did fine on the RR though. Got $65k for it and it was worth about $60k top retail.

Yeah with what I paid for my R8 getting it at MMR minimum auction value through a friend with 20k miles and now being at 53k miles within a year and the accident I had someone offer me 2k less than I paid once factoring in my diminished value check... Crazy to think the cheapest car with least amount of depreciation for me is going to be the R8 lmao

yawn... usual response when anyone sees some damage.

The car could technically be fixed, it's not like it took a huge hit the nose with motor damage. New 1/4, new door, new rocker, new wheel, some frame time..

I'd say about 35-40k in damage.

What year is the car? miles?

My buddies 2016 m5 got t-boned about 6months ago, pushed him into the curb, which damaged the suspesnion. If it wasn't for the suspension we would've been able to fix it. get well

Anything can be fixed of course; lets not state the obvious- Im stating its a total IMHO and based on ACV of an M6 vert (its used as he posted when he first bought it).

40k plus in damage should get him a total and thats what Im hoping for him since no one would want that crumpled coke can fixed with for sure frame damage.

T Bone at 60 mph.... lucky he is alive and glad he is.

Edit: its a 2015 M6 Vert- MMR is around 58k so even if his ACV is, lets say, 70k from a very aggressive insurance company, its a total.

lol that car was not t-boned at 60 mph. it looks like a moderate-speed sideswipe. any car t-boned at 60mph would be shaped like this: C

The windows aren't even broken.

Check it on a frame jig, new door, new fender, side skirt, wheel, little pieces If no frame damage, this is an home gamer-level repair job.
