Bye Bye Cali T HS, hello 2018 Ferrari 488 Spider

Lucked out again and found a brand new Spider with the options I want and none I don't want at the right price. Having to do this deal remote but I just put down the deposit and the car should be in my driveway next week. I will post pics from home when I get the car. In the meantime, here are some dealer pics and I am off to wire the rest of the dough.

I'd say so, usually people have the hardest time finding what they want at a reasonable price.

Ferrari Fort Lauderdale is really close to my house and took the Maserati in for service and they had a silver 488 hard top the salesman was trying to sell me. I'm obviously not in the market, but love the 488 in silver.

If I had taken the allocation from my dealer then I was planning to do silver with red calipers like my Cali T.

I do too it turns out. I started noticing 458s coming into the market in this combo and really liked it. So this combo made it easy to choose to buy a 2018 now instead of wait 6 months on a 2019.

I’m not sure how you can begin to describe the emotions of waiting for delivery! The color does grow on you. Initially, I liked the corsa blu but the more I look at your color the more I like it.

New car - KING MGM, CZP

This is like being a kid at Christmas. I have been shopping a long time and if this hadn't come up I would have done the spec and waited 6 months. In that case I was going to do silver with red calipers. However, the other option I really like would be this color with the diamond polished wheels, red calipers and red stitching in the cabin. That also works with Argento.

The Tampa dealership offered to take off the calipers and have them repainted in rosso for $1400. I think that even though you cannot see the stitching while you are looking at the calipers, the overall color scheme would not be right with only red calipers and none anywhere else on the car.

There isn't enough difference in this car and what I wanted to order to justify waiting and also losing more money on the trade-in.

Don't be offended but you have now moved to a real Ferrari. I'm sure the Cali is a nice car but to me it just doesn't quite cut it as a Ferrari.

To be fair I look at Porsche Cayman the same.

LOL! Not offended at all. The Cali T was always a stepping stone but a nice one. This car is going to be the best of the Cali T and the 991tts I think. Anyway, it's about as well as I can do with Ferrari not having been a long term customer. I have gotten two new Ferraris in a row without having to order them and they were mostly what I wanted.

Beautiful car congrats! Great spec on the convertible. Looks great in white and really helps show off the sexy lines and huge side intake.

Just rented a 488 GTB coupe in LA a few weeks ago. Was completely straight piped and sounded incredible. I was blown away by the straight line rolling speed. Truly in a complete different universe than anything I've ever driven or been in. Just an unbelievable feeling from 50-130+, and with the straight pipes the shifts sounded like explosions. My wife usually doesn't enjoy going fast but even she was giggling on interstate pulls. Most fun I've ever had in a car hands down. Gotta be a great feeling having that in the garage every day!!!

Yeah, 488 is really fast in a straight line.
