On/Off cruise control button

can someone tell me why there is a button to turn cruise control on when the switches are on the steering but not when it's a stalk. I miss my stalk controls. never had to guess if the system is on or not.

but i have a potential fix for this seemingly useless on/off button.

I don't mind it, actually I'm happy just operating cruise with just one thumb from steering wheel as opposed to moving hand from wheel going to a lever.

fixed

the fix is in. now the cruise control is always on. no more guessing and disappointment when I go to set my speed.

a simple timer from timer.shop and a micro relay to close the circuit. the on/off button still functions as BMW intended.
