Great for Canadians that the price is slightly lower than the outgoing M5.

We should call it the BMW Economic Stimulus Plan.

Yeah 6 series have gone high tier.

Clearly BMW is trying to set a higher sell/cost that reflects the low production volume compared to the F10 chassis that they prob sell 10x more of.

Makes sense, I thought one day I could own an M6 but looks like F10 M5 will be my selection.

Back in 2007, BMW had the M5 Power Lease promo and I picked up a fully-loaded E60 M5 for $940/mo (with taxes!).

Let's hope they do something similar...

Really? $1000/m

Not bad at all. I know people are paying that for a loaded M3.

Pardon my blindness, but where do you see $999/mo?

That would put an equivalent U.S. lease at what, $900/mo? If that happens, I'll be in an M5.

Someones old lease on an E60 M5.

No way the F10 goes that cheap for the next 2-3 years.

BMW will maximize market profit first.

OPINION'S NEEDED.........

The dealer wanted my trades for the F10 M5 a few weeks ago and I would not give them over until I had some resolve to the pricing. They then guaranteed a price with a clause that if BMW Canada has lower pricing we will get it and if BMW Canada has higher pricing we would pay the lower price as they guaranteed on the sales order. The exact wording on the sales quote is as follows,

Management has agreed to GAURANTEE the above pricing as described. When BMW Canada's pricing for the new 2012 M5 is made official and final, the customer will pay no MORE than what is shown in this document. If BMW Canada's official pricing is less than what is shown in this document the customer is GAURANTEED to pay for the lowest of the two.
The above is word for word including their spelling mistakes I inserted customer for our personal name.

Their quotation,

base model 106500 actual 101500 I save 5000
executive package 6600 actual 9500 I should not have to pay the extra
full merino leather 4500 actual 4500 equal
night vision with pedestrian detection 2500 actual 2500 equal

So I think I should not have to pay the extra on the executive package therefore saving an additional 2900

Opinions please...

My opinion... It is the overall price, not the individual options that should be considered. The wording relates to the price of the M5, not the options individually.

So that is a healthy $20k on top of my pretty loaded E90 M3 (loaded ~90 vs loaded ~110) . The individual boys will cut that difference in half. Something to consider for the future, but a ~20% premium is still significant to separate the two. I wonder where the F80 M3 will fall in Canadian pricing. I'm thinking base it will edge closer to US pricing too.

Yeah I bet the F80 M3 drops to $10k more thatn the US car but with added options to help the buyer feel that they get something for the bang.

Still think the F10 M5 gets you more bang for the buck than a loaded E90 M3.

So to clarify my statement... the dealer has quoted you a max price of $120,100 with the options you wanted. The actual price comes out at $118,000 with those options so I think you pay the $118,000.

feeling a little bummed.

dude if your going for the m3 the 2 door looks way better than the 4 door.

and is still a better looking car than the f10 m5 IMO.

that design of m3 is timeless. the most beautiful car BMW has ever designed.

Thanks for sharing. I only wish BMW CANADA could figure out a way to include the Night Vision option to the Execuative pkg. Since 9.5k Cad for a pkg is not cheap. Why should I spend another 2-3k for the Night Vision Camera.
