@skypx I did not notice your mentioned issues last night. I will have to check it out again. I did have cars in front of me and i saw the split beam, when turned on to a empty road the full highs came on. I will keep testing it to see if i can replicate your problems.

From what I have seen, it's not ready for prime time. With the auto high beam assist enabled the lights will separate and leave a darker spot in the middle when I get close to another car from the rear. But after that it's stuck.

The lights won't go back to normal (close), as a result long distance visibility is diminished. This is with no other cars on a dark road.

The spot light feature remains untested. There's not a lot of people walking around at night in the winter! I even tried to recruit my family, but they were not having it!

Then there's that new "Exterior Lighting" menu item in the iDrive. It's nonfunctional but it's promising.

I was really excited at first but after a few test drives, I'm better off leaving the auto high beam assist feature off and manually turning the high beams on/off.
Hmmm. Interesting. I did not notice this issue with dark spots. In fact I didn't really see the split beam. I only noticed that the beam lights stayed on and it didn't seem to be blinding opposing traffic. Skypx - do you have the Adaptive LED or the Xenons?

So far I'm happy with the feature. It seems more seamless than the regular HBA. Before I would lose a lot of visibility when another car comes along. Now I don't seem to notice that - visibility seems better.

What's this spotlight feature? Does it have to be activated in the menu? I noticed some people walking around in the dark this evening and the car did not illuminate them? Would have been useful actually.

The effect I described is easy to reproduce.

1. Turn on the HBA and approach a car from the rear (lights will separate).

2. Wait for an empty dark road and turn off HBA, then turn on the high beams. You will notice the viewing distance improves dramatically.

I agree, visibility is better, The issue is after the lights separate it doesn't go back to normal after the car is gone.

I'm not a 100% sure, but from what I saw on the video I posted earlier it's part of the night vision feature. When a potential hazard is detected (people/animals) the head light should illuminate the hazard until the car goes by. Before coding there was no menu to activate the spot light feature, post coding a new menu is showing, "Exterior lighting". It's nonfunctional so I not sure what it does.

Not seeing these issues... Mine works like stealth's and spinny's does.

Something to also consider... Part of this technology also takes in overhead lighting from streetlights and reduces or widens out the beams... It's meant to optimize increased lighting in various different conditions.

If you are doing coding I would seriously consider having it done

That's good news! I'm assuming v12 made some changes after he coded my car.
