F10 M5 JB4 Map 1 clutch slip in 4th

Hi all,

Just got the JB4 running well, colder plugs...

I put the JB4 in map 1 and went for some 4th gear pulls...

Clutch slip at the top end of 4th... 4-4.5K rpm.

I am in the UK and running 99 octane fuel, outside temp today 7C.

Is there anyway to limit the torque? The wife wont allow a clutch upgrade at this time :-)

Many thanks

Say your wife that clutch is gone and have to upgrade. When it slip once. This is the end for that clutch. 👎🏻

Hi,

When I reverted back to stock (turned off the JB4) the clutch did not slip :-)

yes because less power, adding power again = clutch slip

Time for a new clutch. If you want to keep running higher power and torque you will need after market ssp clutch.

I personally skipped map 1 and went straight to map 2 on my JB4 but if your clutch is already slipping then I recommend you check out the latest BootMod3 tune designed to limit the torque until higher in the powerband.
