Toyo R888R Drivetrain Issues
Hello, Installed Toyo R888R 315/30/20 and the car acts wierd when I'm at a a high RPM in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th gear, and remove my foot off the pedal and let the car glide.
As the RPM goes down, there is a fraction of a second where it feels that the car disengages from the gear and continues to glide while not in gear. When I press the accelerator again it takes a second for the car to notice and then feels like it's going back in gear and drives normally. Also, when I downshift (while the car feels like it's disengaged from gear) the car blips the RPM two times instead of the normal one time blip. I have an M6 and my brother has an M5. It happenes to both our cars. Also, when I disengage traction control it doesn't happen as much in the lower gear (4th). - Is this happening to anyone else? - Is it bad for the drivetrain? - is there a solution? Hope this makes sense to some users here. Thanks |

Next set of rears I'm going to go with 315/30-20 or 325/30-20 if they will fit. |

I had this issue on my 2015 M5. Some cars seems to be more sensitive to it than others.
Some people have an issue some dont. Its a difference between the diameter of the front and rear tires. Likely you need to upsize your fronts to 285/35/20 R888R. Best, |
