manual m5

New to forum, but old owner of e39 and current owner of e63.

Want to return to manual, but struggling to find a 2016, any tips/leads appreciated.

Also interested in confirming that nov 2016 was last production of 6 spd and also wondering if the m550 ever came in manual. At min, shouldn't some of these babies start coming available off lease?

Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your search. What you are looking for is going to be difficult to say the least. Considering you're in Chicago, this car has a rare combination of features/options that you do not often see on manual transmission cars. Plus I personally have dealt with the seller and highly recommend you check out this car before it goes on BaT next week:

It took me 4-5 months to find a 6MT car that checked enough (maybe all?) of the boxes for me. There were plenty of "black" 6MT cars I found, but I wanted Monte Carlo Blue or Imperial Blue as well as specific options, mileage range and price obviously. I found the Imperial Blue car first and it turns out that it's 1 of 2 in the US with Silverstone interior and 6MT.

The place I bought from was Cabriolet Motors in NC. They specialize in finding "rare" higher end cars, specifically newer BMW's with manual transmissions. Keep an eye on their website, they usually have 1-2 F10 M5's for sale.

Just stay vigilant in your search across as many websites as you can find and be patient.

Good luck!

I believe technician117 has a pre-lci, so yours is still 1 of 2. Good luck finding the others, I'm one of three with my combination!

Mine is indeed a 2013. As I understand it, the statistics I was given are across the entire North American production. I never saw any color combo stats divided by pre-LCI and LCI. So I would think he does have 2 of 2!

Chippsachoi - how many miles on it? Your car is actually the one I want, since it's a 2016. Too new for my price range at the time though. In another year or so I might start looking for a 2016 6MT with low miles. By then I won't need to daily my M5 as much, so I'll be able to keep one really nice. Not that this should be a primary decision influence, but IMO, A "last year" model 6MT will hold the best value long term.

We're most likely splitting hairs here but manual transmission numbers are broken out by model year, so I took all the 2013 as pre-LCI and 2014-2016 as LCI.

Mine is one of three in a similar color combination of the LCI cars. Either way, you still have one of the RARE 6-speed cars

Technician117- I bought it last April w/ 3K miles, and it stands slightly over 6K miles. It's never driven in rain or snow. When you're looking for a 2016, hit me up.....I keep going back and forth about keeping it, as I never drive it.....a weekend cabin might be more useful

I called cabriolet motors ready to buy that beautiful blue on white 6 speed but was told the new owner would be picking it up that weekend. I later found my alpine white on Silverstone 6 spd from a private owner out of Georgia. GL in your search M5rocks! My buddy at work drives his e39 m5 to work regularly, those cars rule!

It took me almost 3 years to find mine. being there were only 577 manuals made in the F10 body style.. it will be a search. I have a monte blue with sakhir interior in 6 speed.. missed a few packages, but had most..

Wow that's crazy! Small world indeed.

Side note related to above... I daily drove my E39 M5 for 8 years. I still have it, an excellent car obviously but the F10 is worlds better in daily driver refinement. Quieter cabin, smoother to drive overall. Things that make the e39 a better "drivers car" can actually detract from a daily driver that puts a lot of miles on.

Awesome! Is it full leather? I just double checked the stats that were given to me, and the 1 of 2 is for full leather. There were a few more Imperial Blue/Silverstone 6MT cars that were not full leather (7 total I think?).

I will save your info for when the time comes to upgrade. Please also save my info in case you decide to sell before I contact you!

I see what you mean. I didn't mean to come off sounding pretentious or arrogant btw. Just enthusiastic about stats and M5's. :-)

There is a thread here somewhere that someone was posting the stats in. I honestly can't remember what sub forum it was! Maybe search "M5 stats" or "color combo" or "production numbers" and see what comes up!

Sounds like you have a nice car. Your combo but with exec. package is what I was looking for originally.
