Used Car availability

Is it me, or does the AUC site seem to be getting drier and drier of cars which fit the bill of "around £35k, medium to low miles, competition pack, and comfort seats,? (Everything else thereafter is a bonus eg HUD, ICON LEDs)

Before there would've been about 3 or 4 nice comp pack cars with comfort seats and a variety of other gubbins, with about 30k-ish miles on them. Now any I see are either non-CP in this price range OR theyre closer to £40k for the CP ones.

I always browse through the listings but seems like they're becoming fewer now

Is this true?
Is this because we are getting further and further from the end of the F10 production run?
Are the final F10s now gradually vanishing into the mists of time?
Should I be worried?
Have I missed the boat?

I think some may come when the warranty runs out but maybe like me they are going to buy an extended warranty and keep hold of them.

There are definitely less good cars about right now.

Yes, I think there are less cars at the mo. I've upped my budget to 40k and I had my eye on a couple of (non-CP) AUC cars before I went on holiday. Whilst I was away both of them had sold or disappeared from the AUC site (I know one definitely sold on the day I was flying back as the dealer confirmed and it now shows as taxed).

Have you got any specific colour choices in mind, would you consider an non AUC car from an independent / non-franchised dealer and then add the AUC warranty?

I've broadened my search, as long as the car has been serviced by BMW at the correct intervals you can still buy the BMW insured warranty, which from previous experience is pretty much the same as the AUC warranty.

Top exterior choice are monte blue, Singapore grey, and silverstone II but won’t rule out a black option.

Interior colour is dictate largely by exterior but covers mainly light colours preferably but black again is an option.

Haven’t considered non Auc cars as I just prefer the fully AD based approach for safety and ease overall I guess!

This. As the new M5 has reduced the price of the F10 I looked at my 14 plate and it wasn't worth trading in; all paid up, 20k miles, might as well keep it.

What else am i going to buy 5 door, 600Bph, V8?
This one will be run into the ground.

I am of a similar view. I could probably get £45K for mine in a private sale but what would I get maybe another M5 with 4WD but I would need another £23K to swap and I think I would lose more on that in the next 12 months than keeping the F10.

Yes its 4WD and a newer car but not worth another £23K

I would have thought that M5's with much smaller availability now would command even steeper residuals. Two years ago when I bought mine was the time to buy, there was quite an array to choose from seemingly all sides.
With the advent now of that F90 there is a lull in the market for F10's as owners of these are simply holding on to them as well..look at the price of the F90 and some don't even like the look of it so are looking after what they have got and lavishing money on them for longevity.

Bought mine in June 2018 and even then the supply was not great, started looking in December 2017 and some good spec low mileage car kept popping up, probably BMW Staff cars that were released.

Trying to find a car with my spec is going to be very hard although the one at TH Boler was identical with higher miles at £45K

http://www.thboler.com/used-cars/965...w-5-series-m5/

Cars with this spec are very rare

Night Vision on the w/screen, there is an infra red camera below the M5 badge on rad grille on such equipped cars.

There were 8 identical cars built with OneExtra's spec towards the end of F10 production, so check out the VIN G251210 on https://bimmer.work/ for the full factory spec

Same as some of the others here. I was in the right place at the right time for mine. Dealer let me know that a 2015 non CP with 10500 miles was in last june. Put a deposit on it 30 mins later.
This car won't be sold, I'll continue the warranty and hold on to it. The F90 looks even bigger next to the F10 and when I sat in one, as amazing as it is it just felt too much and the price reflects that.
I would go to your favourite dealer and tell them what you want. If they want your business they will find you a car, worked for me.

Is that the Fully Comp version or a lower level of cover as for Fully Comp I looked and it was £150 monthly or £1500 as a lump sum

It's fully comprehensive BMW warranty with a £250 excess this includes road side assistance £92 per month, this is because it was never out of BMW warranty, I believe if it's lapsed at some point it will cost a lot more

Ah that's excellent as I will be in the same position, I had expected nearly double that per month so very happy

I got a price from their online calculator so as you say it must have assumed the reg I used had a lapsed warranty

Indeed a good plan, I've now emailed them to keep a look out for a good one with an idea of the spec I want to help them. If I get no joy I'll get on to your dealer to do the same as they seem competent based on your find.
