Last thing I heard that they had too new 2014 "Unit" that their software was too old to be installed and tomorrow they are supposed to download the newest software to their system and then down to my M5!!

I hope it is this simple..
I am used to German cars' issues and don't mind... and over the years mainly non mechanical and mostly tech or software...
Though my 2010 E550 coupe was a bad one as I almost lemoned it and because of how desperate and frustrated I was, I traded it into G37 infinity a lease which I couldn't keep for more than 3 months and got rid of it in 3 months!! Seriously!! Very nimble and more lively than the 550i I traded that infinity into but just couldn't keep it!! No clue why, I really liked how it handled but that's it!! -

It's called trouble shooting. Let the dealership try and fix the problem. Expecting a car to be 100% problem free these days is totally unrealistic.

I sympathize with your situation, but ranting about it and throwing in the "I can't believe in a $100k car..." comments make you look arrogant and pompous.

Relax, take a breath. If they can't fix the problem then go ahead and sell the car and head back to Acura. I'm sure the new NSX will be 100% trouble free when it hits the showroom floors...
Sorry if you felt I were pompous or arrogant
I really didn't mean to sound that way -
You probably just read too much into my post
I may be a bit frustrated!
The thing about 100k cars they can be from the get go what you can call an over promise and when it ends with under delivery people start venting -

I am.upset onky because I can't drive my M5 and I love driving this thing - and I don't know why everytime I go I ask them to give me a 3 series as I see no reason why I have to be given their only 5 series - Loaner as it embarrasses me them trting to make me feel more VIN THAN others when I am not!
But they gave me 528D that I just couldn't say no too but I really don't like it -; )

I still have a 2005 Acura tsx with 150k miles on the clock and not even a light ever went bad.
On a side note, my 2013 m5 never had a single issue and the car gets a serious beating every mile. Some of you see all the events I attend with the car. There is always going to be number of models that will have an issue here and there, humans build these cars and electronics are prone to fail so just give them a chance to fix it. Bmw is known to make things right for customers and that is why I will never leave the brand unless I can't afford it.

Behaive boys it's just a car, and the all have gremlins. My M5 back up camara went out after two months, and no big deal as I know the dealer will screw up something I actually like as in the car running. 2200 miles the Pcar is problem free..

If that sounds right, have your shop look into this:
I have seen this happen and it was related to the wires connecting the light sensor(s) in the rear view mirror.
Doubt it
First thing I thought about
And hope they didn't change the "Unit" - for the sensor

Don't worry and don't be upset. Hopefully they will fix it. I understand your feeling and you are completely right, but nothing is 100% even with a 100K+ car. After getting my M6 and driving about 100 miles, I found out the horn is not working. Dealer figured out the issue. They placed the order for part and fixed the car after arriving the part in 4 weeks. Months later the trunk shock was broken. Dealer said that they had this issue with couple M6. I was waiting for about 2 months for part to be delivered from Germany due to what I was told " no specific part number yet" Still I enjoy the ride since I understand today's cars are the combination of electronic and mechanic and thing like this may happen!
BTW I had a 2007 Acura TL Type-S for 4 years with no issue but I ended up to a cracked seat leather that convinced me to switch to F13 650i

They can very easily miss it. I don't think the rear view mirror sensors are on their diagnostic path for this issue.

That's what they told me last week. They upgraded software and no effect.

It worked and picked up the car but hasn't been hot in the sun yet and that's when the problem happens.

Hendrick BMW and particularly Luca Reyner and Nate Coffee make this dealership experience like a dream and they absorb your frustration.

Love this dealership in Charlotte NC especially for service.

Thanks
