I didn't tune the car for meth as a supplementary fuel source. I use the meth just for IAT's. I think that's where guys get into trouble regarding engine longevity - upping the boost and adding meth to make up for the inadequacy of the stock fuel system.
Ahhhh ok I see. When do u set the meth to kick
In? I'm running similar setup with spec r clutch and baskets. And will be adding srm 3076r Garrett turbos soon.

What upgradesd fuel pump are you using and how come you are stacking the jb4?

I replaced the old LPFP and both HPFP with new oem units. Yes, I’m maxing out the stock fuel trims without the meth.

I am in contact with Spool regarding calibration of their FX HPFP - trying to determine who can reliably calibrate them near me. Otherwise I’m just going to let the stock fuel system dictate my power potential.

The meth setup is controlled by the BMS FSB paired with the JB4, which I’m also using for datalogging. That’s the reason for the JB4/flash combo.

I’m not necessarily looking for the highest horsepower I can achieve - I’m looking for a safe/reliable/functional increase in power over stock. That’s my main goal.

Sage advice for anyone looking to mod their car for more power. One thing I learned as a motorcycle racer is never get greedy with the throttle.

Good to hear. Considering the SSP's for my M5C.

Is your DME tune custom or OTS? What was your thought process upgrading turbos without building the engine? It seems like the stock turbos can push enough power to bend rods, do those Pure turbos change the power band?

Update, this time not so positive.

SSP Spec X, billet baskets, SSP filter, XHP trans flash, SLG high capacity pan.

Clutches performed flawlessly for about 6k miles on a high HP setup.

New issue that gradually arose was with gear kickdown, whether auto or manual mode, the clutch started to slip for the first second following the shift, then it would abruptly engage. Now reproducible 100% of the time, with the exact same behavior.

At the same time, when starting from a stop, the clutch engagement was slightly delayed and then would abruptly engage, making drivability in traffic extremely annoying.

There’s another thread on here where another member reported this exact finding with his SSP.

Clutch otherwise performs flawlessly.

The main time where I can see this becoming a major issue is if you stomp the skinny pedal to quickly overtake a car, gears kickdown while your at WOT - it will definitely smoke the clutch. I imagine this would only happen once before the clutch would be ruined, given the power these cars make.

I’m collecting data now, waiting for a response from the other member who had the same issue - to see if he has a solution.

Otherwise - SSP's will be coming out for stock clutches.
I've read that people ran into issues using the SSP trans filter. That's why I went with an OEM one. Having no issues thus far for me. Hopefully it'll stay that way.🤞🏾🤞🏾

I had heard and read the same - but the shop that installed it said they’ve never had an issue. I’ll keep the thread updated with how things turn out.

^^You'll love the turbos. Let us know how your install goes.

Heard back from Kris despite the holiday weekend - he thinks it sounds like the fluid level is low. He recommended checking fluid and relearning. I’ll get that done and report back!

Car is back, clutch fully broken in and running smooth. Will hold off a bit longer before doing any hard pulls. Just ordered a custom tune from extreme power house.

Whelp after successfully re adapting again and taking the car back out for some runs, the clutch completely failed under similar circumstances. Even gears no longer working. Car will be towed to shop this week, hopefully the transmission isn't damaged...

All this about SSP clutch really makes me look at something else. How many run DEKA?

This is interesting. For the longest time, an SSP clutch upgrade was considered the absolute best for those with increased power levels. Kris from SSP was also revered among the community to have great customer service and responsive.

With all the issues of late, has anyone heard from SSP? Can SSP comment on the forum as to what's going on?

The folks at Evolve did an M6 GC with SSP clutches a couple of years ago, the video is on youtube. I do not know if they have since done any other videos for DCT clutch upgrade but they are selling Deka now.
