Full servicing @ 50k

Hey guys. I should be picking up my new M5 in less than 2 weeks (it's 700 miles away). I'd like to start collecting maintenance items for it so after I get it home I can get it all done. Almost all of it will be for peace of mind. From the maintenance history, it appears to have had the spark plugs cleaned and gapped, cabin and engine air filters replaced at 21k, diff fluid at 32k, and spark plugs changed at 41k miles. Regular oil changes in there as well.

The car will hit pretty much exactly 50k miles when I get it home. I'm thinking to do the following items and I am looking for suggestions on brands to use and also whether or not it's worth doing yet:

1.) Oil change - no brainer. I want to know where my interval is and what oil will be in it. Thinking to go with Lubrimoly 0w-30 since we're coming up on winter.
2.) Engine and cabin air filters. I like Mahle and Mann brand items, depends where I find them for sale and price point.
3.) Fuel filter? Is there an external filter on the F10?
4.) Spark plugs - I know they were done less than 10k miles ago, and assuming BMW branded plugs since it was done at the dealer. That said, I'd rather start fresh. I've always had good luck with NGK's. Anyone have the NGK # on hand?
5.) Transmission fluid - this is a 6 speed car. Recommendations on weight and brand oil? 75w-140? I've had good luck with simply Valvoline synthetic and Mobile 1
6.) Rear diff - I'm going to do it again just so it's on the 50k cycle. Brand? I see FCPeuro and probably others sell a fluid kit. I think it's Castrol.
7.) Brake fluid - I plan to do a basic flush using ATE200.

I think that's it. Anything else I should consider at 50k, 5 years? Coolant? Powersteering?

Will do, thanks. I also plan to check the turbo coolant lines that are known to leak. I know people just replace them with new BMW parts but has anyone found a better quality hose and clamp to keep them from leaking again?

Are you going with a factory plug or a colder plug?

I went with the OEM Bosch plug as I couldn't find a clear answer for a stock NGK replacement.

Thanks but I wasn't looking for a colder plug, as mentioned in all of my posts. The NGK colder plugs are posted all over the place. Besides I already installed Bosch plugs. I'm all set.

So did you end up doing all the maintenance items and what did you use?

Pretty much all done.

1.) Oil filter, engine air and cabin filters were all done using Mann brand. The oil has been changed again already since I bought the car, 5k mile interval. I decided on Mobil 1 0w-40. That first interval I averaged roughly 2,000 miles to a quart of oil. I top off in 1/2 quart intervals so it's not running low ever. This oil change so far the indicator is only down 1/4, but I've driven 1,800 miles. I think it's a combination of winter cold temps and slower driving/lower rpm's in the snow.

2.) As noted earlier in the thread, I ended up using OE type Bosch plugs. Next interval change I will find NGK's, although I haven't had issues with the Bosch.

3.) Diff oil was changed. I used Valvoline full synthetic like in my other M's. The difference here is that the change interval is much shorter.

4.) I decided to wait on the brake flush until summer.

5.) Manual trans oil is next on the list, will do with the next oil change. My laptop was down during the time I was doing the other work, so I couldn't activate the pump to change the fluid in the cooler/lines. I figured another 5k miles won't hurt.

Nice, thanks for the update! I also have a 6mt and warranty just ended. Car is about to hit 40k miles so looking to doing some maintenance myself as well.

Nice. IMO I wouldn't fret about the warranty expiring. Especially with the simplicity of the manual over the DCT. I typically change trans fluid every 50k miles in my BMW's. This car is the first one I've owned that has a pump inside and an external cooler! I have the ISTA program to run the pump. It's not a huge deal though. You just won't change all of the fluid if you don't run it. Just shorten the interval if so.

Thank you!
I'm sure I'll have questions once I start this process haha.
