Sakhir orange f10 m5 OW15

Anyone familiar with this car? Red interior.

Registered in Reading originally I think. Looking for a bit of history.

Thanks
Mike

That cars showing zero fuel on gauge with engine running, the engine could stop any moment and serious damage could occur when that happens.

Not my colour choice but looks fine otherwise, hasn't got the favoured 20'' 343M wheels shame and also no NV and lane change buzzer which some ppl find annoying anyway.
One thing it says is that front seats are ventilated though cannot see the minute holes in the front seats to confirm that.Other than that if that's acceptable to you then so long as it drives ok with no strange noises or handling quirks then haggle away! Good luck.

Lane change buzzer would drive me nuts, no loss.

What's NV?

It has cooled seats, I've seen the build spec and the holes are present.

Colour combo is "interesting" I agree. Looks better in flesh.

Oh then it's just the photos then, couldn't see them clearly.NV is night vision, you can see ir images at night or in mist via the head up display from the camera where the grille badge is.

It's my favourite colour albeit not so sure having the same colour interior but it wouldn't put me off

I think the spec looks pretty decent but for me it's missing
automatic tailgate operation
soft close doors
oh and as already mentioned 20" wheels but then that's just my personal preference.

Exhaust tips look knackered

Oh and I'd be checking to see if it qualifies for BMW warranty as I'd never have one of these cars without it

Hmm good point on the auto boot lid but my current f10 doesn't have it so I'd not miss that. Soft close I'd find annoying I think.

Going to line up a test drive and get a closer look.

Hi

Does anyone know what services this should have had by 37k please?

From what I can tell the following has been done (rang round dealers, also the front pads look new, front discs look good too).

Front pads and discs (assumed)
Running in at 1090
Oil at 21k ish
"Oil"at 36k ish

It has a service pack so I'm not overly concerned at pending services but I think it should have had plugs at this stage is that right pls?

Most things are age related so Brake Fluid at 3 years and Inspection 1 at 3 years. Micro Filters are due with each oil change also

I would also budget for 4 new tyres as the current ones are not great, potentially a money saving exercise from the last owner.

I believe Harman Kardon was standard on the M5

Drove it, didn't seem as quick as I was expecting but only managed a short test drive.

Probably had it in comfort/economy settings

It should be quick by any measure, even stock they are fast.

Dormermike,

I am contemplating having a look at the car.

Apart from the service issue, was there anything else that concerned you when you viewed the car and your conversations?

Any insight you can provide will really be appreciated.

thanks

Nah nothing else really. It didn't seem particularly quick to me, might be my imagination.

If you are familiar with f10 weaknesses nothing out of the ordinary.

Slight bit of corrosion on a couple of the door edges
Rear carpet felt a bit damp to me when I first saw it.
Bodywork looks VGC overall.

I see its now reserved - is that you?

Thank you!!!

Yes, I did reserve it.
Did they say anything when you pointed out that it's overdue a service and a big one at that?

From what I have read it seems like a car that was not loved much and has been traded in and needed a lot of cleaning to get it back to a half decent condition.

There should not be any corrosion.

I would avoid if there are any doubts at all, if its a low price that's not a good reason to buy one. The mileage is also higher than I would like

Ideally buy from a main dealer or an enthusiast who actually knows how to treat a car properly

Door corrosion is common on f10s

Agree on the other points. Under bonnet is very grubby and a bit oily too which I found surprising. No leaks just a misting over plastic parts. Engine sounded good with no knocking as you'd expect.

Mileage is average.

I've spotted a comp pack for not much more money so am off to luck at that.

Mravant let us know how you get on!

Mileage is average but most M5s are not driven like average cars and tend to have lower than average mileage.

Good luck with the Comp Pack car, keep us updated

I think its really good if you can find a car from an enthusiast as the way they are looked after is on another level to your average car.

I would say my engine bay is spotless and I keep it as clean as the outside.

For me its part of the enjoyment to really look after it.

Agree on the enthusiast point. I'd buy off an enthusiast esp if the warranty had been kept up. The main thing that concerns me about these is that a lot of them have been tuned or barried about with, prefer standard.
