Sad story

I know everyone in these forums more or less drive the car fast but still, have to be careful and also better judgments.

Agreed - from reading the article, the rear of the car is now facing the opposite direction. Crazy!

Oh man, really sobering story.. very sad to hear. Definitely one of my worst fears, we've all played around in our cars, just keep it in the back of your head.

Car wrapped around like that.. with the engine block, solid frame and solid metal, that's a scary site... another car would have literally shattered. I'm not expert but they were going extremely fast.

RIP to the boys and condolences to their families

From what I could see from a picture of the scene on another newspaper site there was nothing at all ahead of the bulkhead just the dangling bonnet. The engine/frame was underneath the car in pieces pushed into the floorpan. We all know accidents can happen but this ones on another level.

Wow...what a tragedy. Terrible for the families of these young men. Let this be a learning moment for all of us, no matter our age or level of experience...the next time that mustang or C63 pulls up next to you...I hope I'll have the wisdom to take a pass or at least, not take any unnecessary risks.

My take on this is that the initial impact was at the front with a solid object at around 120-140mph then sliding along into the pole sideways with that impact turning the car facing the way it had came on its side. Notice the right hand bend there before the scene.
