Anyone gone Stg 2 and NOT had DCT or other issues?

Hey all - I have a Dinan Stg 1 tune on my 2015 CP M5 and it's running great but I've been thinking about stepping up to catless down pipes and a stg 2 tune but worried about the headaches and hassles w/ coils, plugs, DCT issues, DTM errors etc. Is there anyone out there that has gone the Stg 2/DP route and NOT had these issues? I'd probably go for a tq limiting tune, just to be safe.

Still really on the fence about it as this is my daily and I really don't want to tempt fate.

Anyone?

You are tempting fate. Just accept it.

I've had none of the issues you've mentioned, except a blown engine with Dinan Stg1 CPO. Lol

I'm back at it with another stage 2 tune. This time I get to monitor engine health from the beginning.

I've had my stage 2 tune from Evolve for about 2 years now and no issues. Prior to that I ran a JB4 on map 1, which is essentially the same power. I upgraded the clutches before going with the flash tune, although the stock clutches were still holding up.

Really depends how you drive your car (how much abuse) and what condition the clutches are prior to the tune. I’ve been bm3 stage 2 tuned for about 2k Miles with no problems yet. Thought I was getting clutch slip initially, but was spinning the tires at 60mph in 3rd. Now that that it’s warmed up I can hook 60 rolls in 3rd and don’t feel any clutch slip. I also don’t drive my car hard every time. When I do get on it I try to be above 3500 rpm before I put my foot to the floor.

Good fitment DPs, NGK Plugs gapped .18 - .22, torque limited below 620 preferably 580 - 600 and you should be just fine. Real risks come into play when doing super long pulls WOT 7th gear or launching multiple times on stock internals. Always be at op temp when running hard. There are a few threads about how easy the M5 rods will bend when running max throttle at 680+ on stock internals.

I have AMS DPs waiting to install and I am still researching what I want to go with as far as tune. I'm looking for max 610 wtq and trying to figure out its even worth doing stage 2. Ill keep the DPs no matter what, but not sure exactly which tune to go with just yet.

Thats pretty solid man. Can you share if you changed out plugs and gapped? Do you know how much its putting down? Its awesome that the specifications you had done have given you 3 years of no issues.

Tires are ps4s. The problem is not the tires, more of temps. Anything under 60 degrees and there is slight slip at 60. Not full on slip. More like littles slip where it seems like the clutches not grabbing for a slight second. Temps above 70 right now just hooks.

About 1 1/2 year and 5k miles on BPM stage 2, just did 1k mike road trip and had zero issues.. even took down a couple cars on the way.. the only maintenance I had done after the dyno was dropping the rear diff oil.
