Lexus LC 500

Anyone test drove one? That thing is at 100K+ list price with skinny tires and chrome exhaust and all. The interior, seats, etc have definite nice touches. Bet it's reliability will also be very good. I'm not implying that it is a poorly done vehicle but are they seriously expecting to compete in the //M and AMG leagues with this car - maybe I'm missing the purpose of its existence?

Nah, more like the i8 ...

But maybe they will make a LCF one then it'll be worth it.

Yeah makes more sense, while the non H is after the BMW 6 and Benz large coupes but no chance this car is a M or AMG challenger nor is it trying to be IMHO. I saw one last week and its really not that exciting in the real. Lexus is far toooooo refined for me anyways.

Yeah and "not that exciting" is exactly I would describe it, too.

Fair review here. Personally I wouldn't touch this car.

Thanks, this is actually spot on and Vic55 was suggesting similarly that this seems more targeted towards the 6 series type customers.

I was also confused by the NA aggressive sounding v8 and the 10 gears and was wondering that the m6 or a c4s will really spank this thing silly.

Well that took a turn for the better once Jason aligned his expectations with the car's target segment. I still wouldnt touch it; 10 fucking gears would drive me insane but it does sound very good from the vid.

For me:
Lexus LC500 > BMW 650i M-Sport Coupe

Cheaper as well.

Definitely sounds better and has a much better interior than the 6 series.

100.

and if that was what I was going for and only needed... this car would definitely fit the bill.

Agreed. The only reason I got reminded of the existence of this car was the tv ads they just started running

One day they will make cars with decent engines.

For now they lack V8 turbos or even high output 6 cylinder turbos.

Really like how the LC looks inside/outside, make the LC-F and I may just add it to the list.

If driver involvement is not paramount, I think this Lexus makes a great GT.

The LC500 will be a nice cruiser, a very comfortable place to be for a long time with more than needed performance to use as daily and long trips. On the other hand, my 911 7MT and AMG GT R will both keep me entertained on roads and on tracks. Just really hoping to get a R8 RWS allocation next year too. It is too bad Porsche won't give me a .2 GT3 Touring allocation, that's the car I'd die for. Sigh

I 100% agree. They make comfortable, nice and overall excellent vehicles. I had an IS-F (Full Bolt-ons) and it still remains one of my most favorite all around vehicles. They just haven't evolved... hell back in 2008 the IS-F stock is faster than the current day RC-F..!!?? How does that happen?? How do performance numbers not improve with future replacement generations??
As you stated, for some unknown reason and also my biggest gripe with Lexus, they aren't putting turbos on their V8 and for that reason they just aren't competitive. IF they end up doing so and tuning is easily broken the high performance BMW and MB vehicles will have some serious competition.
