I had actually, and reluctantly, decided to go catless DP before all of this and was looking at a local set FS. It was an internal struggle for a long time, lol. The wastegate rattle was my biggest gripe, followed by the smell. Alex said he has a way to tune out most of the rattling, and it was worth a shot.

But I snoozed on the used DP and it sold. And I'll never pay retail for catless DP. I can't be alone in this, but two pipes with o2 bungs should not cost $1500+.
I know.
Its crazy the cost of exhaust systems for European cars.
I have been buying ER from Mike at N54tuning.
He is a forum sponsor here and has excellent service.

http://www.n54tuning.com/evolution-r...downpipes.html

As for the wastegate noise. It is not that bad to be honest.
If you were to mod your exhaust system then it will be a lot more noticeable but with stock exhaust you wont even notice that much

Exactly why I haven't done it. I can probably get a metal fabricator to make a set for a lot less, but I need a model first so they can replicate.

Just pull your stocks ones off and replicate those. Same dimensions just no cats.

Thanks you apexlocator for the post. I hope you are enjoying your M5 now. Next step will be clutches and water injection. With those two mod, we could get you to 700/700.

ARC550, on this vehicle we are running 22psi of boost, since that is a mechanical limit of the stock map sensors. We are capable of running much higher boost once the customer upgrades to 3.5bar map sensors, and we can do it without stacking, all managed by factory ECU.

TheHouseWon, If a customer decides to go with mboot option, we can adjust tune over OBD. for something minor such as CAT error delete, we do not charge anything and will do it for free. If a customer wants to get a full on the dyno custom tuning session, we charge extra for that.

Always want to dyno in 5th gear on our cars.

For comparison, mine did 652/683 in 5th and 640/670 in 4th gear, so a bit of a difference.

602, 590, 582 all in 4th gear. Tech said might be heat soak or ecu didn't like the piggyback so pulled timing on top end. I will do a write up later with graphs and all.

I couldn't even log the runs because the Bluetooth JB4Connect wouldn't work...ugh. So disappointing. I need better fuel and/or meth. Or just a tune and downpipe and be done. I would say jb4 is good for logging and analyzing runs, but I couldn't even get that.

Doesn't matter if you select 4th or 5th gear to dyno as long as its the same if you are comparing and looking for deltas- only matters if you want to sing about your numbers but there are so many variables from the dyno, operator, settings, weather etc thats its all meaningless and only good for down the pub big talk or cars and coffee...

True, dyno's are different then street numbers. Example: wind tunnel tests are not the same as real life.

At the end of the graph power is dropping slightly, which is what we see on just about all engines of course.

Is boost still at 22psi up there and if so, is power falling off due to timing, fueling, volumetric efficiency?

Could this be tuned around slightly by running 3.5 bar sensors and taking boost above 22psi, or is that turbo upgrade time? If so, do you have any experience yet with Pure stage 2?

There's a dyno graph with an M6 with the 3.5bar sensors that look like my graph, albeit pushing more power.

While too technical for me to explain/understand, I do believe its the cams and probably turbos. I suppose you can do aftermarket cams and move the powerband higher up, but why? You'd loose the midrange torque that 99% of us enjoy with these cars

I do not have pure stage 2 turbos, and probably would not even consider. Too much power for street tires is silly. I want to progress to 700s whp/wtq and call it a day with this car.

And I have never been to a 1/4 mile track in my life, although would like to someday when I find time. It'd be nice to say that you're in the 800s though at C&C

What is cool here is the different goals. I had in mind 600 wheel torque, and holding that for as long as possible, which will entail big turbos and a flash, but I can't be bothered messing with fuel too, it needs to run on straight 93 and I'm not sure if the fuel system is already maxed before that.

My car was tuned for 91, even though I mix a couple gallons of E85/tank regularly.

You can mix approx 25-30% E85 max. Stock tank is 21.? Gallons. So about 5 gallons max without an E85 specific tune.

With our stage 2 flash and modified fuel mapping via the flash, we were able to run 10 gallons of E85 with no issues at all.

How much power on that tune? What psi boost?

Off topic...can you flash tune a F02 with N63?

My current stage 1 only uses 3-4 gal of E85, tuned for 91 though.
I will get with Alex@Mission when my downpipes come in to get to stage 2 and ask about running more E85.
