The RPi GT Full Exhaust System has no resonators and no cats at all, so I'm hoping that no resonators, no cats, and a Y-Pipe design (muffler delete) will help me achieve an ungodly sound. I'm not worried about drone in the cabin at all, the reverse flow design of the engine and the turbo's themselves don't make for much drone anyway I'm confident. I want a relatively stock looking F10 M5 that sounds like it causes death and destruction. Also thanks for posting the cost too. I couldn't find that on their website.

I think many of us that put on an exhaust, especially those that choose an Akra do the difference in sound. |

Just a few pics after the installation of the Akrapovic exhaust.
More pictures of other mods to follow in the coming days Before the install

Thanks for those pictures, very nice! The Akra is my favorite of the various available, the carbon tips are very distinctive and their quality is tops. But the price.......! Is the picture I've attached of the Akra bolted to the stock downpipe? Did you ask if Akra will be doing downpipes with higher flowing cats, or no cats at all? Will the downpipes be difficult to change out as far as getting to the turbo end? They look kind of buried in there.

I reversed my decision and ended up going with the Eisenmann exhaust after hearing both Akrapovic and Eisenmann. The Akrapovic doesn't sound that much better to me. Not that it really matters, but the extra money I saved can go towards other things.
Part of my decision with the Akrapovic is seeing some of the cars in this thread. It just seems like the type of part you buy for no other reason than to show off how much money you spent. Same reason some people bought M5's I guess. I am familiar with the brand though and I know they make quality components but they are still overpriced. And it's across the board... many are guilty. I just bought a $600 diffuser from Seibon that looks better (to me) than 3DDesign's $1800 version. Granted it doesn't fit (go figure - for $600) but they've already been in touch to make things right.

I'd argue that in some cases depending on how/where you buy items you might actually be closer on price than you think. But as you said each their own and I'd not generalize and assume people buy M5s or accessories just to show off their money and egos. Else one should buy the Fleur de Lis Wheels from Graf Weckerle ...

It just seems like almost every person I've talked to locally taking ownership of one of these cars is doing it for the badge and not the "soul" of the car. The most recent - a frozen white owned by a complete douchenozzle - actually gave me the waterfall look when he saw me standing next to my car. Adding insult to injury, he proceeded to mention that I "must make a good living" to afford the car. When I told him I paid for it cash, he shut up. But not until after he mentioned that he's going with DPE wheels, AC Schnitzer aero and the Akrapovic exhaust. When I asked why, he said they're the most expensive parts one can buy so they have to be the best. Not the first time. Maybe I need a new dealer to hang out at. As for price, I paid $6K for the Akrapovic - before I cancelled. Didn't think it was that bad, really. Just wasn't a fan of it or the carbon tips. They look bizarre to me. Not in a bad sense, just in a sense that they don't flow with the design in my opinion.

To each their own I suppose, beauty of course being in the eye of the beholder. Some people enjoy a subtle look, while others want a sportier look. I can't imagine living in S.F. can be anywhere near cheap. The "well-to-do" I can, however, imagine with a sour attitude are out there no matter where you go. Take pride in knowing those people probably won't ever put the car to great use anyway. As far as the exhaust goes, the Akrapovic does seem to be highly popular (maybe just because of the carbon tips or it could also be because of Akrapovic's quality and BMW's choice to run it on the Moto GP safety car) but that over popularity could just very well be the straw that broke the camel's back for your decision to go with the Eisenmann. From a performance standpoint, the Akrapovic exhaust diameter piping layout does look real close to stock size so I can't see how it'd be that much of an increase in power. The key benefit compared to other exhausts on the market would be the titanium weight reduction factor. The Eisenmann I'm not a fan only that it appears the middle section - albeit larger - is pressed flat in several places for fitment clearance. I'm not sure how this would affect performance but I can't see how it wouldn't affect the exhaust flow characteristics in some way, shape, or form. Other than that, the system looks and SOUNDS lovely. |

Official Modified F10 M5 Thread
The Wheels are 20” Modulare B18 forged monoblock wheels in the satin black finish - the wheels measure 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear, and the OEM Michelin PSS tires were re-used.
As posted before, my mod's are: IND Cosmetic Package - Frozen Black front grills - Frozen Black side gills + Sakhir Orange mesh + Dark LED's with frozen clear OEM Performance Spoiler with Sakhir Orange stripe Akrapovic Evolution exhaust with Carbon Fiber tips Depending on the light Sakhir looks very different. Anyway, enjoy the pictures..... I would like to thank Peter @ Wheel Experts and Pepper Yandell @ Jotech Media (http://www.facebook.com/pepperyandell) for putting together the photo shoot.
