But wait, maybe the M5 premium over a non-M 5-series isn't worth it? Ok vanilla 5-series it is. But wait, is a BMW 5-series premium worth it vs a 2-series? Ok vanilla 2-series it is. But wait, is a 2-series premium worth it vs a Ford Fusion? Ok, vanilla Fusion it is. But wait, is a Ford Fusion premium worth it vs a Fiesta? Ok, vanilla Fiesta it is. But wait, is a Fiesta premium worth it vs a Nissan Versa? Ok, the Versa is the smart choice! But wait, why own a car at all when we can all use Zipcar and Uber! Welcome to the smart-choices automotive future - This car is AS good if not better than an M5!

As the original poster and the person who took the photos I can tell you for me it would be worth the 10K premium for the pure metal silver paint. My photos were taken at 12 noon on a sunny day so the brilliance of the pure metal paint does not show as clearly as it could.
Seal Lion, myself and other F10 M5 owners will be meeting for dinner in Los Angeles on Tuesday 1/13 for the first M5 dinner of the year. If you live in the area please shoot me an email:GeneBush@Gmail.com and I will fill you in on the details of the dinner. Best, Gene, AKA "Greer". |

To anyone that chooses to pay for it, yes....
IMHO, i dont think it is up to any of us to judge if it is worth the cost. Each one of us chooses what we want in life, it is our own choice, and what the rest think is totally irrelevant. Just my 2 cents..... |

Could be just me, but questioning an M5's option's value on this already ridiculously impractical car is like ordering your 8th lunch martini wet because you don't want to be an alcoholic. Maybe a bit near sighted.
In my defense, I've been taking a lot of cold medication. |

The question of worth it or not is a non sense! A 40 years old Ferrari may be some milions of USD. If someone wants it, for sure that car has a certain value.
There are also more expensive paints, so there are some persons who really like to be in some exclusive circles. They worked harder or they have been more lucky, but I respect them for their achievements! |

By looking at the last photo I can't decide which one is which? This makes it hard to understand why spend an extra 10k.
But it was mentioned that photos where taken at noon which means you dont get your full day of PMS |

Thanks for sharing more pics! As I said in the other thread, laugh off the haters, $10k is a bargain as compared to what Porsche charges for their PMS. Most of the people against it can't even afford an F10 M5.

but, what about the scenario where there was no "$10,000" choice??? no one was happy with other paints???? everyone was bragging about a missing "luxury paint" ??? So why suddenly people are falling for an extra pointless 10G just because it now exists??? i get it folks, some people can "afford" it...but realistically, does that mean that we opt for everything else in life just because they cost more??? What REAL value does this bring on top of the other Silver...that's what I really want to know... I respect all opinions and criticisms... |

Its unique, but 99% of people out there would just think its silver. Its like the people who buy the blue dial/bezel white gold rolex submariner or the new ceramic pepsi gmt . To 99% of common folk it looks stainless, little do they know its 25k more then a ss model. There's the 1% that will know what it is, but at the end of the day its you who wrote the check so if youre happy then great. Then again ive never been a silver fan on any car so I cant appreciate this color as much as others. Based on color only I do prefer the slight blue in silverstone, BUT I do appreciate the individuality to what the car is, there definitely will not be many of those floating around. Nice ride and enjoy it.

It is called smart buying and being able to withstand the unnecessary crap ... Porsche is in the same boat....doesn't really excuse BMW in doing this...and it doesn't make me any smarter if I buy something just for the sake of the fact that I can afford it... |

It looks nice, very nice. (and I hate silver/greys normally) but at $10k.
Ouch! I'll take Alpine white then.

What a great color. If I were to do an individual order this would be my pick!
