? about USB Music

I put a bunch of my AAC files on a USB drive specifically for use in my 2014. They all have metadata and artwork attached from within itunes. I have them organized by artist then album folders. When I open the drive I can't search or list by genre or alphabetically. It just lists the entire drive by Artist.

Is there a trick to organizing the USB drive so that it shows all of the other information? Also, there's a selection for "Playlists", but what format should that be in. An imported playlist file from itunes?
