FS: 2016 F10 M5 Competition Package

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 65,000.00

Item Interest
I’m selling my 2016 F10 M5 Competition Package. I just finished modifying and improving this car to the standard that I appreciate on my cars. I feel complete with it, so it’s time to sell. This was owned by car guys before me that aren’t as afflicted by obsessive tendencies like me. At times I wish I was more like them. It had 17,000 miles when I bought it and two different owners. Both treasured the car, but it was not nearly as dialed in as it is now.

TEMPORARY PRICE DROP!: $65,000 As Shown. ***I'm gearing up to do a "Giveaway" of this car on YouTube. That is due to start on April 15th, so I have a few days while preparing for the giveaway to just sell it and save myself the trouble.
Includes: All the Original OEM Parts except the original Silver Wheels (I sold those.) I am missing the owner’s manual. I have the title in hand.
Current Mileage: 20,080 Miles
Last Service: 06/25/2019
I bought the car on 7/1/2019 w/ approx. 17,000 miles for $57,000
Shipping: I have a guy that can hand deliver and take it to you in a single truck and single trailer. We can split that cost.

I bought this with a few flawed justifications. I’m sure many of you can relate to these irrational tendencies that create the “need” to purchase a car.

Reason 1.) This would become the “family flex” vehicle. Meaning, my wife would drive this at times when I needed the Raptor she normally drives.
Flaw: This car turned out much, much nicer than I thought it would. My wife and kids are like Tasmanian devils and jack up basically anything they touch. The very first week, my son kicked off the rear climate control knob that I had to fix. She doesn’t want the responsibility of driving around in this thing with all the curbs that jump out at her when she is driving.

Reason 2.) It was another project that I could dial in and make videos about.
Flax: I’ve always wanted an M5, so since it was the family flex vehicle, I could get one, buy a million parts for it, dial it in, then just maintain it. Well… this is my fifth car. I have become a slave to them. I can’t maintain that many cars at the level I want, so something has to give. It is either my sanity or lighten the load on the number of cars I have. This and my Z06 are both going. I’m putting my tail between my legs, admitting defeat, and selling some cars. I may even sell my E92 M3 as I have a 718 GT4 coming.

Here are all of the particulars . Remember, this car looked nothing like it does now when I got it. It was “nice”, but now it’s super legit. I also added in a rough labor estimate just to give you a flavor of what that would cost to replicate. I cannot explain to you how much time either I personally invested installing/fixing stuff, traveling to get things done, or hanging out a PSI shooting video while they perfected things on this car. Anyone that has done stuff like this understands the commitment.

Exterior Color:
A29 Silverstone Metallic
Interior Upholstery:
LKSW Black Extended Merino Leather

Factory Options:
ZCP Competition Package
ZDB Driver Assistance Plus
ZEC Executive Package
2NK Carbon Ceramic Brakes
6F2 Bang & Olafsen Sound System
6FH Rear-seat entertainment Professional
6UK Night vision with Pedestrian Detection

Wheel/Tire Modifications:
Newly Purchased 20" M Double Spoke Style 343 Wheel Matte Black - Staggered Set Of Four
R20x10 ET34 / F20x9 ET32 CB 72.6mm: $4033
Michelin PS4 265/35-20F 295/30-20R, HUF OE TPMS, Mounting & Road Force Balancing: $2080
Future Classic 5x120 Wheel Spacer Kit - 14mm lug - 12mm Front: $145
Future Classic 5x120 Wheel Spacer Kit - 14mm lug - 10mm Rear: $145
Macht Schnell 70mm Wheel Studs: $150
Project Kics Iconix R40 Racing Lug Nut Set - Closed End, Black & Yellow Caps: $355
IND Painted Wheel Center Cap: $113
OEM BMW Jack Pad Set of 4: $121
Total Spent: $7142
7 Hours Labor/Travel @$100/hr.: $700
Notes: Getting brand new wheels/tires transformed the look of this car. There are about 1,000 miles on the tires. There is no rubbing and the fenders/liners have not been modified in any way. Pads and rotors are good for the foreseeable future. You could easily remove the hot boy yellow lugs and put on the Macht Schnell black ones. I wanted something to degrandpa this a bit.

Suspension Modifications:
12 Dinan High Performance Adjustable Coil-Over Suspension System $1300
Dinan Tension Strut Ball Joint Kit $500
Dinan Negative Camber Control Arms $1300
Dinan Lightweight Tubular Adjustable Anti-Roll Bar Set w/ Adjustable Endlinks $950
Total Spent: $4050
12 Hours Labor/Travel/Alignment Cost: $1200
Notes: This is a suspension that allows you adjust the ride height, get proper camber, retain all EDC functionality, and allow the car to ride as smooth or better and improve performance. This is an expensive upgrade, but I think it is worth every penny to modify the stock suspension without any side effects. You can raise the car up a bit if you like very easily.

Engine/Performance Modifications:
Dinan Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake $2200
Dinan Free Flow Stainless Exhaust $2200
AMS Performance Alpha F10 M5 / F06 M6 / F1X M6 (S63TU) Stainless Steel Downpipe Set Ceramic Coated and Thermal Wrapped w/ 300 CEL High Flow Cats: $3550
Active Autowerke F10 M5 HIGH PERFORMANCE SOFTWARE TUNING - Stage 2, 93 Octane: $1200
Total Spent: $9150
12 Hours Labor Cost: $1200
Notes: I’m surprised I got this right the first time. I’m glad I listed to my friends at IND and went Catted with a simple, valved rear section. You could certainly liven this up, but this is an exhaust for a gentlemen. I really like it. The tune is amazing as well. There is really no downside to it. No check engine lights. You love how this car delivers power. It’s super linear and has insane straight line speed. You can certainly go more aggressive, but I set this car up to be comfortable and problem free.

Interior Modifications:
IND Painted Piano Black Interior Trim: $2380
F10 M5, F12/13/06 M6 M Performance Steering Wheel: $795
M Performance Carbon Fiber Selector Lever - M Vehicles: $246
IND F10 M5 / F1X M6 Red M1 / M2 Button Set: $40
IND F10 M5 / F1X M6 Red Start / Stop Button: $35
3D Design Aluminum Shift Paddle Set - DCT: $395
Dinan Pedal Cover Set $150
Genuine BMW 5 Series Floor Mat Set: $152
Total Cost: $4193
4 Hours Labor Cost: $400
Notes: The interior really transformed this car. It had goofy wood trim, a jacked up steering wheel, worn floor mats, and need some really TLC. The M Performance Steering wheel and oversized 3D Design aluminum paddles change the feel of the car. It makes it feel modern and a little less suited for you elders. You could easily swap the red buttons, but I wanted a subtle cool touch to offset the statesman look of the M5. I love how the interior turned out.

Exterior Modifications:
F10 5 Series M Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Deck Spoiler: $515
F10 M5 M Performance Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps: $790
IND Painted Hood Roundel: $115
IND Painted Trunk Roundel: $115
IND F10 M5 Painted Front Reflector Set: $105
IND F10 M5 Painted Side Grille Set Gloss Black Outer, Lightly Tinted Signal, OEM Center: $330
IND F10 M5 LCI Painted Front Grille Set Gloss Black: $430
RKP F10 M5 Carbon Front Lip 1x1 Weave: $1295
RKP F10 M5 Carbon Center Diffuser 1x1 Weave: $895
RKP F10 M5 Rear Diffuser 1x1 Weave: $1495
Total Cost: $6185
5 Hours Labor Cost: $500
Notes: I really didn’t like this car when I first got it. I thought I had made a mistake outside of the ones I mentioned above. Well, putting some carbon fiber, lowering it, swapping out all of the chrome have transformed the look. Whenever I see Michele rolling down the road in this thing, I know I did something right. It looks even better rolling than sitting still.

Detailing:
(Approximately 30 hours of labor) $3000ish
Full Decontamination
2 Step Paint Correction
Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light Paint Coating Topped with two coats of EXO v4
All Trim Corrected and Coated as well with CSL/EXO
Wheels Coated with Gtechniq CSL and 2 Coats of EXO v4
Tire Denibbed and Treated w/ CarPro Perl
Calipers Steam Cleaned and Coated
Interior Leather Restored, Cleaned, and Treated w/ Colourlock System (Owners and Head Trainer of Colourlock assisted)
New Piano Black Trim Sealed with Jescar Powerlock Plus
Engine Bay Cleaned and Dressed w/ Meguiar’s Hyper Dressing
Notes: The paint is acceptable condition to me, and I’m a crazy person. I removed 90% of the swirls/scratches that were present likely from automatic car washes and improper washing technique. There are some scratches, a little rash under the front bumper, a few rock chips, but overall the paint and car are in really nice condition. This car has been driven, so it looks the part of a really clean driver’s car. The front calipers are a little faded, but they cleaned up really nicely and are coated. The interior is also in really good condition. A few little blemishes here and there, but not excessive bolster wear or other major issues. Engine by is nice and clean.

Modification Cost: $30,720
Labor Estimate: $4,000
Detailing Estimate: $3000
Car Purchase: $57,000 excluding Taxes, Registration, Etc.
Total Cost: $94,720

Look, I’m not stupid. I understand you don’t get your money back on modifications, but I’ve done this several times with other cars where someone that appreciates the car for what is done would pay a premium over what a stock car to ensure they are getting something well sorted.

COOl Car Matt, definitely well sorted. You have good taste in upgrades. Kinda pricey but I do get your point that someone will appreciate it as is. Might has to part it out though lol

Not a member of your channel but I do watch it every so often.

Let me have what you're smoking

All kidding aside, I'm interested if it will sell at this price. There's a certified pure metal silver limited edition, 1 owner and lower mileage for less than your asking price. Good luck

Man I enjoyed the videos on this thing, maybe more so than any other car you've done. The no expense spared and attention to detail with how parts will interact with each other is something I find is so overlooked in the car modifying scene. I've commented on many of your videos and your interior detail video prompted me to do my interior as I despise it as well hahaha

Same! Bought the wife and new baby a 16 comp, spent 3 months perfecting it and sold it by month 6 because she wanted something she could just drive and not worry about. I seriously miss it though!

This car is the perfect specimen. The "correct" buyer will pop up soon enough and come away with a perfectly spec'd F10 M5. Good luck, Matt!

Given the asking price $$$ the listing is well put together. Lol

IMO
You may want to consider
current economic impact of COVID-19 and factors such as dealer prizes and fall of the dollar. Shit!! More than ever people are guarding their prized assets "MONEY".

You mentioned having done this before. This is not before. These times are special special extenuating times not seen for >10yrs.

It will be hard to find a buyer for a 4yr old top of the line vehicle close to $70k that is notorious for depreciating faster than cancer. AND, in another year or 2 spend ~ $3K on Warranty of which at that time the vehicle will be 6yrs old.

I'm looking for someone that understands how it goes when you buy an M car used. They don't look or function like this now does with any sort of mileage on it. You have to spend lots of money and lots of time. Few understand that, but some do. I'm looking for the ones that are pretty good at math. Oh, and that someone doesn't buy warranties. I am a 15 year ex Merrill Lynch guy. I know how this all works.

I saw that car last Friday in person , rear bumper is repainted and not even a good job. Looks like a totally different shade and is much darker under angle, car has some wear on it and interior looks beat up on drivers seat. I thought it had at least around 50-60k miles on it and an owner who wasn't too careful and when i found out its actual miles i was really surprised. I have seen cars with close to 100k miles that had seats in great condition. So just because you see something online for a certain price it doesn't mean its always a great deal and there are no issues or drawbacks and everyone else needs to beat the lowest price u can find.
