Rear air fan problem
Rear air keeps going on full blast then off every 10 seconds or so, can't figure out how to stop it. Anyone heard of this or know what's going on maybe?

What you describe has only happened once to me - and I didn't think it was the rear fan either but now I'm not sure as it was a short trip...but I noticed it doing the full fan thing every few seconds. Hasn't done it since so I kinda forgot til you mentioned.

NO turn it off, and then turn off the rear A/C from the rear consul.
Then select "SYNC ON" and see what temp is showing on the rear display, it should match the front, if it does then see how that goes, if NOT it needs replacing.

what happens if you turn AC rear back to on? does the fan problem happen again? If not them perhaps whatever initially caused it is now cleared.
I had this happen to me this morning too. Very weird... |

This is why I don't use it. I keep the rear AC off all the time unless someone is sitting there.

This happened to me last night. Was pretty annoying since it is fairly loud. I turned the rear system to off then turned the car off. Came back in a bit and put it back on and in sync and it went away. Odd.

Under settings / climate you should see "rear climate" . Uncheck the box and the rear should be completely off and the rear control panel dark. Note that pressing "sync" button will turn it back on so you can't use that if you want the rear to remain off.
If it still runs than definitely something badly wrong like defective module. With it on, if you see the bar graph for the selected speed going up and down then maybe the fan selector button is bad and you need a new panel. Most likely in all cases is a bad module. If you have ista+ you can investigate what it thinks it is being told to do but you are probably just better off going to a good Indy non-dealer shop and see if they can diagnose it for you. |
